MVMS 2017 CABARET INFORMATION
WHO: We are looking for actors, singers, dancers, artists, and any other creative and enthusiastic students who are responsible and respectful (must have a good behavior record, a 2.0 GPA, and no “Fs”)
WHAT: This year, the MVMS Cabaret will be a version of Annie with a few creative changes. Our show will include many leading roles, featured solos and ensemble parts, and featured dancers. There will also be many opportunities for ensemble cast members to showcase their various talents; however, unlike in years past, you MUST BE A PART OF THE CAST. We will NOT be having a separate cast of Talent Acts.
WHEN:
Performance and dress rehearsal week is Sun., 2/25 – Sun., 3/5.
In order to participate, your schedule must be cleared this week!
**Please note that February 25th is the last Sunday of the
mid-winter break. Cast and crew must be available that afternoon & evening in order to participate. (Some crew and principal cast members (lead roles) may be asked to rehearse on 2/24 as well.)
Mandatory rehearsals for the cast will be:
Thursdays, 3:00-5:30pm. Additional smaller group rehearsals are after school on Mondays and Tuesdays (based on part and need). The more available you are, the better! Saturday rehearsals for lead roles may be added as needed. Cast members should plan to be available on all Thursdays, and either Monday or Tuesday (or both) on some weeks. Rehearsals will begin the week of January 9, 2017.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
*You must have a good behavior record, and a 2.0 grade point average, with no Fs.
*You must be easy to work with, and be available for your rehearsals.
*You must be available on Thursdays after school 3-6pm, and relatively flexible on Mondays and Tuesdays
*You MUST be available the entire week of Sun., Feb. 25th – Sun., Mar. 5th.
*There will be evening rehearsals and performances. Exact schedule TBA.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
This year, all participants must audition to be a part of the ensemble cast. There will NOT be a separate cast for Talent Acts.
We are also looking for responsible and creative students to be on the crew. (Stage crew, lights and sound technicians, costumes and scenery)
Applications for crew will be available.
PROCESS FOR PARTICIPATING:
· Listen for the announcement in the bulletin for audition signups (signups will be Nov. 7th – 18th)
· During lunch or after school, sign up for an audition date/time and get an application. Sign ups sheets will be posted at the end of the 7th/8th grade hallway. Applications will be available for CAST and CREW in a large envelope beside the sign up sheets.
· Bring your completed application to your audition.

Please note: Due to the number of schedule conflicts between Basketball and the Cabaret, students will need to pick one or the other. Please see me for specific needs/ questions on this.
