A copy of your operative report can be obtained from your doctor or from the hospital where your tubal ligation was performed.
Should that not be available Laparoscopic evaluation of the tubes may be done before the actual procedure to asses the chances of possible reversal. This in a one day procedure. In our experience 4cm total tubal length is sufficient to result in successful reversal .

Pregnancy after reversal of sterilization
We ask patients to inform us as soon as they have a positive pregnancy test or missed periods. The main risk of tubal ligation reversal is a long-term risk of tubal pregnancy, occurring in approximately 10% of pregnancies after tubal surgery. Detected early, a tubal pregnancy can be treated medically to avoid damage to the fallopian tube and the need for additional surgery. When a woman has had a positive pregnancy test, we recommend following positive HCG assays twice a week and having a vaginal ultrasound exam when the HCG levels reaches 1500 to look for the gestational sac. We maintain long term contact with our patients to be of assistance whenever needed after their surgery.
