Notes of Meeting held on 11th November 2010 – 7pm

At Murrayside Community Centre, Nacton Road

Present: Sam Teague IBC, Sarah Jarrold, Glen Thimblethorpe, Cllr Bill Knowles, Scott Falteisek, Paul Russell, Debbie Owen IBC and Cllr Maguire.

1. Welcome – ST welcomed everyone

2. Minutes of Last Meeting – A copy was passed around the table and has been emailed. Minutes were deemed acceptable.

3. Updates:-

SJ – Consultations regarding the designs for Murray Park have been processed at Rose Hill Primary School (Senior Year Only) and Murrayfield Primary School (Whole School).

SJ and PR – Organised a leaflet drop of Consultation sheets along Murray Road and King Edward Road.

SJ – Meeting with Ormistan Mums Group on 16th November regarding the designs for Murray Park.

SJ – Going to meet up with a Teen Group at Gainsborough Library.

BK – Try and contact the Bangladeshi Community.

ST – Could consult with the Outreach Youth Group known as The Tuesday Night Project 6 – 9pm. SJ popping in to see them.

ST – Has persuaded his boss to repair the park notice board which has been vandalised.

SJ – Results from the park consultation should be available at the next meeting.

4. Priorities:-

Next Meeting

Brain storming session regarding application for funding under the BIFFA scheme. Applications must be submitted by beginning of next year.

Other Business

Police Signs:- Reluctance from police to support this. Standard signs with Local Community Officers details. There will be six in total and they will be situated by the gates and on the notice board.

JC – Will be involved with the Park Forums

BK – Bullet points from previous meetings should be shown on park notice board.

ST – Publicity in Ipswich Angle and Local Newspapers when consultation results are ready.

GT – Further consultation regarding free tennis lessons with Paul Sheldrake. Saturday Park Tennis.

SJ – Ringing James Young regarding whether other groups would wish to use the park. By doing this we hope it will give us a more substantial case for funding.

ST – Getting hold of deeds for the park. Covenant details.

January, February and March Meetings will involve discussions for planning activities in the park.

DO – Is looking into whether the funding we received is for one sink or two.

GT – There has been a problem with the application for a bank account regarding the signatures on the form.

Date of Next Meeting: Every second Thursday of the month at 7pm Murrayside Community Centre, Nacton Road.
