MURDER CASE SOLVED: ACCUSED ARRESTED, ONE COUNTRY MADE PISTOL WITH ONE LIVE AND USED CARTRIDGE RECOVERED

With the arrest of Ravi Sharma S/o Kripa Shankar Sharma R/o H. No-
96-C, Gali No-8, Prem Vihar, Karawal Nagar, Delhi aged about 25 years, staff of P.S. Karawal Nagar of North East District Police solved the murder case registered vide FIR No-159/11 dt. 30/05/11 u/s 302 IPC& 25-Arms Act. One country made Pistol of .315 bore/8mm and 1-live and 1- used cartridge of same bore was also recovered at the instance of accused Ravi Sharma.

INCIDENT:-

On 30/05/11, a case of murder was reported in PS Karawal Nagar in which deceased Rajesh age 22 years was found dead in a empty plot with a gunshot injury. A case of murder was registered and investigation was taken up by Insp Vijay Shrotriya, Inpr. (Investigation) of PS Kawawal Nagar.

TEAM:-

Considering the gravity of the case. Special investigation team under the charge of Inspr. (Investigation) Vijay Shrotriya, SI Chetan Singh Meena, HC.Ravinder & other were formed. The Inspr. (Special Staff) Sanjay Gade with his team were also roped in for early breakthrough under the overall supervision of ACP/Khajuri Khas.

INVESTIGATION & OPERATION: -

Initially the case was totally blind but with painstaking and relentless efforts, various pieces of evidence, testimony and information were linked to solve the intrigue puzzle of this murder. The background of deceased victim was thoroughly analyzed to learn about his background antecedent and his past movement including last seen. From the modus operandi and inspection of scene of crime,it apparently appears to be handiwork of someone who was known to the victim and who was familiar with the topography of the area.

From the local inquiry and from the family of victim, the last seen location & timing was ascertained. Reversing back step by step, it was revealed that at late night, he was seen with one Ravi Sharma,who is a shady character and does not enjoy good reputation. The needle of suspicious is pointing towards him. Allegations of the parents of the deceased, circumstantial evidences and condition of deceased on the scene of crime conclude the suspicion on Ravi, the friend of the deceased.

Initially, he tried to mislead the police by giving different version.. But on sustained examination, his contradictory statements were exposed and finally he broke down and spilled the beans. He did confessed his involvement in the case. Victim Rajesh some -how fell into bad company.As a result he incurred a heavy debt which he was unable to repay. He was to repay some amount to Ravi Sharma also but he continuously defaulted in making repayment. This led to strained relationship between them. On the fateful intervening night of 29/30 May, 2011, victim Rajesh went with Ravi. But there were hot argument & verbal duel between them over repayment. On this Ravi got agitated and he fired upon him from his illicit katta. The victim immediately died on the spot. Seeing this he fled from the spot.

On his disclosure and at his instance the Desi katta used in the crime has been recovered from his house alongwith the empty cartridge and one live round.

MOTIVE:-

Personal animosity due to non-payment resulting in bad blood.

Ravi Sharma S/o Kripa Shankar Sharma R/o H. No-96-C, Gali No-8, Prem Vihar, Karawal Nagar, Delhi aged about 25 years. He is unmarried and living with his younger brother and mother. He is of criminal nature and remained involved in the following cases.

FIR No. 686/05 u/s 341/323/506/34/IPC P.S. Gokal Puri Delhi.

Further investigation/interrogation is in progress.

THREE DESPERATE AUTOLIFTER ARRESTED: 4 CASES OF AUTOTHEFT WORKOUT.

With the arrest of three persons namely (1) Rakesh s/o Vijaypal r/o Sangam Vihar, Loni, Gaziabad U.P. Aged 20 yrs., (2) Kuldeep Tiwari s/o Mahesh Chand Tiwari r/o Shiv mandir wali Gali, Rahul Garden, Gaziabad U.P. Aged 22yrs. (3) Raju s/o Mukesh r/o Sangam Vihar, Loni, Gaziabad U.P. Aged 18yrs. The Team of Spl. Staff North-East Distt has worked out four cases of Auto lifting and recovered 5 stolen Motor Cycles.

TEAM/INVESTIGATON

Due to sudden rise in the incidents of auto lifting in the area of North-East Distt. a special team comprising of Insp. Sanjay Gade I/C Spl. Staff/NE, SI Arun Kumar, ASI Rampal, ASI Bhisham Rana, Ct. Neeraj, Ct. Deepak, Ct Sachin, Ct Pardeep, Ct Kavinder was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. S.S.Hasan ACP/OPS/NE. to develop the information and to work out the cases of auto lifting.

On 27/05/2011 at about 8.30 PM an information was received to ASI Rampal of Spl/Staff North East Distt., that a gang of Auto lifter who are engaged in stealing motorcycle in North East Distt. would come on stolen motor cycle in the area of Yamuna Vihar in order to steal the motor cycles. Acting on this information a trap was laid at Bus-Stand C-12, Yamuna Vihar. The staff of PS Bhajanpura who are available at the Picket was also asked to join the team. At about 8.45 PM three young boys riding a motorcycle black color discover was stopped and asked to produce the documents of the motorcycle, but they could neither produce any document of the Motor Cycle and make feign excuses on one pretext or the other. On verification it was found that the motorcycle was stolen from the area of PS Bhajanpura and already a case FIR no 235/11 u/s 379 IPC was registered in this regard.

INTERROGATION

During sustained interrogation, the identity of the accused person was revealed as (1) Rakesh s/o Vijaypal r/o Sangam Vihar, Loni, Gaziabad U.P. , (2) Kuldeep Tiwari s/o Mahesh Chand Tiwari r/o Shiv mandir wali gali, Rahul Garden, Gaziabad U.P. (3) Raju s/o Mukesh r/o Sangam Vihar, Loni, Gaziabad U.P. There are pervious criminal involvement of Kuldeep Tiwari & Raju. Kuldeep Tiwari is a member of Vipin Mavi Gang whose other members are in Jail. Whereas Raju is having two previous cases of snatching. The accused persons further disclosed that with in a short span of last six months collectively they committed unaccounted number of series of motor vehicle theft. Initially they indulged them selves in commission of crime for joy ride and later on it turned to be their profession to meet their luxury expenses. On the disclosure and instance of arrested persons four more motorcycle were recovered, two parked at Shahdara Metro-station and two at near the residence of accused Rajesh. The vehicles were stationed in order to disposed them and they were searching for the prospective buyers of the above stolen vehicle. The recovered motor cycles were found to be stolen from the area of Police station Shahdara, G.T.B. Enclave and Bhajanpura. Investigation of the case is progress

(3)Raju s/o Mukesh r/o Sangam Vihar, Loni, Gaziabad U.P. Aged 18yrs. He is a snatcher and remain involved in two cases of snatching. He is having three brothers and a sister. His father is a daily wage earner.

With the arrest of Sunil Bhardwaj s/o Harish R/o Mohan Garden, New Delhi, South-West District Police has worked out a sensational shoot out case which was occurred on 26/05/11 in the jurisdiction area of PS Chhawla. One country made pistol used in the commission of crime has also been recovered. INCIDENT

Sh. Vinod Kumar S/o Sh. Banarsi Lal R/o Qutub Vihar, Phase-I, Goyla Dairy Delhi, aged-40 years reported that he has been residing at the above mentioned address on rent along with his family and originally hails from District Buland Shahar, U.P. and deals in real estate as a property dealer. On 26.05.11, he had to go to Baroda House for which he called his friend Dinesh with his motorcycle. At about 9:45 AM, he along with his friend Dinesh left for Baroda House on Enfield M/Cycle No. DL-9S-R-6369. They had hardly reached at the end of the street from his house when they noticed two persons waiting on a bike by the side of the road. As the complainant crossed the duo, one of them lunged towards his bike hit his friend Dinesh, and then the same person fired upon him. The bullet pierced through his right thigh and blood started oozing out. The assailant then escaped on a Pulsar M/Cycle which was already positioned at some distance. He could not note the number of the motorcycle. The scene of crime was minutely inspected by the Police team.

Upon this, a case was registered under relevant section of law at PS Chhawla and investigation was taken up.

INVESTIGATION

This case was a major challenge for the police and the investigation was taken up in the right earnest. All the available resources of the sub-division were deployed to collect intelligence and work out the case at the earliest. During investigation, it emerged that the complainant was receiving threatening calls over the issue of a plot. The above lead was further investigated and it emerged that the complainant was embroiled in a dispute over a plot measuring 150 Sq. Yards situated at Bhagwati Garden, Uttam Nagar. A criminal case was registered against him at Police Station Uttam Nagar vide FIR No. 148/11 u/s 448/420/471 IPC on the complaint of one Jitender Sahani. Investigation also revealed that the complainant (Vinod) has also filed a civil case over the issue of said plot. Thus, strained relations had developed between Vinod and Jitender Sahani. Upon deeper probe it appeared that a local land mafia syndicate had jumped into the fray in order to capitalize on the situation

OPERATION

A detailed investigation plan was drawn up and several crack teams under the supervision of Addl. DCP/SWD Sh Parmaditya was formed to collect evidence, gather information and pursue the available leads. A team comprising of Inspr AATS/SWD, Insp Sandeep Gupta(SHO/Chhawla), SI Naresh, HC Kuldeep, Ct. Sukhbir, Ct. Ramavtar and Ct. Surender received an input that a local goon namely Dinesh Bardhwaj is involved in the case. Police swung into action and several raids were conducted in the area of Uttam Nagar, Najafgarh, Jaffarpur and Chhawla. Strenuous efforts of Police paid dividends and finally the above team succeeded in nabbing the accused Dinesh Bhardwarj.

INTERROGATION

Accused Sunil Bhardwaj was subjected to interrogation wherein initially he tried to mislead the Police by saying that he is not concerned with this incident and took an alibi that he was in Haryana when the alleged incident took place. However, upon sustained grilling he admitted that he had fired at the victim and that he was accompanied by his friend Lal Singh. He further disclosed that he had been hired by one Dagar to eliminate the complainant Vinod. Mr Jitender Sahani would be the obvious suspect because of the dispute between them and that he would be ultimately arrested. In this way both the claimants to the plot would be removed from the scene and Dagar and his syndicate would get the plot transferred in their name, sell it and distribute the proceeds among themselves. The accused also disclosed that a handsome amount was be paid to him for this task. He was given an initial amount and remaining amount would be paid in installments as and when the task would get accomplished. He was also provided with a mobile phone and instructed by his hirers to use it only for talking to complainant Vinod and Mr Jitender Sahani so as give an impression that he had been hired by Mr Sahani to eliminate Vinod. A pistol was arranged for the purpose and a getaway vehicle was also provided to him for the mission.

Upon his disclosure, all out efforts were made to recover the weapon of offence and the same was got recovered upon his pointing out. His other accomplices are still at large. A massive manhunt has been launched to nab them at the earliest.

PROFILE OF ARRESTED ACCUSED

Sunil Bhardwaj (age-26 years) s/o of Harish r/o Mohan Garden, Delhi, is a school dropout of class 7th and presently uemployed. He has following previous involvements;-

  1. Case FIR No. 145/11 u/s 411 IPC PS Uttam Nagar.
  2. Case FIR No. 427/11 u/s 452/506 IPC PS Uttam Nagar.

RECOVERY

-Country made pistol used in commission of crime.

With the arrest of two snatchers namely Vinod (age 19 years) s/o Ashok Kumar R/o JJ Colony, Pankha Road, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi and Neeraj @ Vinod (age 20 years) s/o Rajkumar R/o JJ Colony, Pankha Road, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, South-West District Police has worked out a snatching case. The duo caught red handed and the snatched gold chain also recovered.

NAME AND PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED PERSONS

  1. Vinod (age 19 years ) s/o Ashok kumar R/o JJ Colony, Pankha Road, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, is a school drop out of 5th class. His father is sweaper in Metro and has no control over his nefarious activities.
  2. Neeraj @ Vinod (age 20 years) s/o Rajkumar R/o JJ Colony, Pankha Road, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, is a school dropout of 7th class. His father is tailor and running in debt hence his family’s pecuniary condition is weak.

GIST OF CASE

Complainant Mrs. Usha Devi w/o late Sh. Sanjeev Kumar r/o Kiran Garden, Matiyala Road, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi reported that on 31.05.11 at around 6:30 PM, she along with her son namely Ravi were standing nearby road beneath East Metro station, Uttam Nagar. Instantly, two boys came to them and started arguing with his son for no rhyme or reasons. One of them managed to snatch her chain and passed it to his associate. On this, her son shown valour and overpowered one of them. Seeing the commotions, Head Const. Kalyan of PS Bindapur who was on patrolling in the area, reached on the spot and sensed the incident promptly. Head Const. pounced upon the snatchers and with the help of complainent’s son Ravi overpowered the fleeing duo. Their identity revealed as Vinod s/o Ashok Kumar and Neeraj s/o Rajkumar both residents of Pankha Road, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi. Upon this a case under relevant section has been registered in PS Bindapur.

INTERROGATION AND MODUS OPERANDI

Accused were subjected to interrogation, they revealed that they are good friends and are from the same locality. They lived lavish lifesyles and needed extra money as their earnings could not finance their luxuries. They further revealed that financial condition of their families is also not good enough, that is why they indulge in snatching cases and bankrolled their expensive habits and lifestyle with the money.

Accused further revealed that they use to spot easy target like woman or old person. Therafter, as per plan they pick up quarrel over trivial issues in order to deviate the attention of the target and snatch his belongings.

One knife and the robbed articles cash, Mobile Phone, Driving License and Badge have been recovered from his possession.
