MUDGEERABA & HINTERLAND HORSE TRAIL CLUB INC
RULES:
1. All persons attending a ride, camp or event must sign the attendance book before the ride commences, and
all day (visitor) riders must sign the Waiver Form and pay the appropriate fee.
2. All new or day (visitor) riders are to make themselves known to a committee member and to the Trail Co-coordinator before the ride begins.
3. All riders are to abide by the directions given by a Committee Member or the Trail Coordinator.
It is at their discretion to deem any horse and/or rider, for any reason, unfit to commence a ride, or continue on a ride.
4. All horses on their first ride with the Club must wear a green ribbon in their tail.
5. Horses known to kick MUST have a red ribbon in their tail.
6. All riders 16 years and under must be accompanied on the ride by an experienced parent or nominated guardian who will ensure their supervision at all times.
7. All riders 16 and under must wear a suitable helmet. We recommend other riders do also.
8. During a ride, keep the rider in front of you and the rider behind you in sight at all times. One horse length should be maintained between each horse.
9. Riders must be sensibly attired, and with suitable riding boots, and their horses’ tack should be safe and appropriate for varying terrain.
10. All riders are to carry a halter and leadrope on a ride.
11. During a ride the blood alcohol level of a rider must not exceed .05 to comply with State Road Rules.
12. During a ride no rider is to leave the trail without the knowledge and permission of a committee member or the Trail Coordinator.
13. Any rider seeing danger (e.g. holes, wire, glass etc.) must relay a warning to other riders around them.
14. No smoking whilst riding, ensure you have a container for your butts.
15. To pass another horse, riders must advise those in front and pass at a walk ONLY.
Overall, riders are required to conduct themselves in a manner that will promote the Club and its activities.
