21st OctPenstemons

Yvonne Shorthouse has a specialist nursery near Coleford, which holds a vast collection of penstemons. Yvonne will give a talk on growing penstemons and will demonstrate propagation. Plants for sale will also be available.

18th NovAutumn Colour

Duncan Coombes, lecturer in horticulture at PershoreCollege, will give an illustrated talk entitled Autumn Colour and Interest in the Garden.

16th DecMistletoe Miscellany

Jonathan Briggs, a national mistletoe expert, who has worked with parasitic plants for over 25 years, will give an illustrated talk on (almost) everything that you need to know about mistletoe.

20th JanAGM followed by talk on Flowers, Fruit and Insects of the RoyalForest of Dean

Peter Ralph worked for the Forestry Commission for almost 40 years and has been a registered tour guide in the Forest for the past 21 years.

17th FebAmaze the Neighbours

Roger Turner is an architect and garden designer. He has designed a garden for the Chelsea Flower Show and two gardens at the garden festival in Ebbw Vale. He will give an illustrated talk on Large and Unusual Plants.

17th MarchSpring Glory - Flower Arranging Demonstration

Judy Aldridge, a highly talented flower arranger, is returning by popular demand. Don’t miss the opportunity to see her at work. The arrangements will be raffled at the end of the evening.

25th AprilTraining at Kew

(Sat)Jonathan Wood, grandson of Elisabeth Wood, will talk about his experience as a trainee at KewGardens. The talk will start at 2.30 pm in the main hall and will be followed by tea and cakes.

30th MayVisit to TarringtonCourtGardens

(Sat)A guided tour of the garden of Chelsea Gold Medal winner Catherine Jago. The garden, where thousands of tulips have recently been planted, has a stream with a turf bridge, African garden, ornamentation and many statues. Meet at 2.15 pm at Church Corner in order to car share. Cost £6.

20th JuneHerefordCathedralSecretGarden

(Sat)An exclusive chance to experience the secret gardens of Hereford Cathedral, guided by one of the knowledgeable gardeners. Meet at Church Corner
