The exams will consist of multiple choice, true/false and short answer questions. A review will be given during the lecture period prior to each exam. If you cannot take the exam during the scheduled time, an alternative make-up time will need to be arranged in advance. Anyone who misses the exam because of unforeseen circumstances must contact me within 24 hours to arrange a make-up exam.
Lab assignments will be made available via the class webpage. Lab assignments will be due approximately once per week (12 lab assignments for the entire semester). Some class time is devoted to completing lab assignments, but some time outside of class may be required. The labs are due at the end of class on the due dates indicated. Late labs will not be accepted.
Unscheduled quizzes will be given at various times during the semester and will generally cover previous lecture information and/or assigned reading/labs. Additional bonus points (5) will be added to the final exam grades for anyone who participates in every quiz regardless of the overall average grade they receive. In other words, show up for every class and you are guaranteed at least 5 bonus points to be added to your final exam.
This class is not just a lecture-based class. Participation in lectures will be required by all students. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS about current weather and class material.

CLASS POLICIES - Spring Semester (MTR 2400)
NO CREDIT (NC) POLICY (deadline is Tuesday, April 02, 2013)- My policy conforms to the College policy, so refer to the College Bulletin and/or the current Class Schedule for details concerning the NC grade.
I will only grant an Incomplete grade (I) during the final week of the semester and only if the student is unable to take the final exam due to an unusual circumstance. An Incomplete grade will revert to an "F", after one year, if the student fails to complete the course.
RELIGIOUS HOLIDAY POLICY - See Student Rights and Responsibilities section in the Student Handbook.
CHEATING- During a test keep your eyes on your own paper. If the instructor observes a student in the process of cheating his/her test will be collected and a score of zero will be recorded. Repeated instances of cheating by a student will be dealt with in accordance with College policy. Read the Rights and Responsibilities section of the Student Handbook for more details.
CLASS ATTENDANCE- It is your responsibility to attend class. If you miss a class meeting for anyreason, you are still responsible for all material covered and announcements made in your absence. For longer-term absences please consider dropping the course.
It is highly recommended you attend all lectures as most information relating to the homework and exams will come from the lecture. Please be on time for class. Arriving late and/or leaving early is inconsiderate of your classmates. Upon arrival please turn off your cell phone or set it to quiet.
