5. What was segregation in the U.S.?
Whites & minorities were separated
At the end of the Civil War Black Codes/laws were passed to separate and control freed slaves
6. How was it possible for the Holocaust and segregation to happen?
Ordinary citizens did nothing, they did not stand up to public pressure & the government to stop what was happening or protect the rights of others

Amendment I,- Freedom of speech, freedom of the press; the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances(Holocaust & Segregation)

Amendment IV - The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.(Holocaust & Segregation)
