I hereby apply for a vacancy as Clinical Trial co-PI/Site Lead MDR TB, as articulated in the ghdonline website. I am an energetic old lady and enthusiastic professional 58 years old lady with a General Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences obtained from the Zimbabwe Institute of Medical Laboratory Sciences. I am a proactive versatile scientist with the ability to perform and evaluate multiple diagnostics procedures and perspective and a supportive communicator who can be adaptable to multicultural and multifunctional environments and also willing to learn. I do have additional professional courses that are: Budget Planning and Project Management for TB Control, Human Resources Development and Management for TB Control obtained from the Union TB Management Courses Programme and Building Design and Engineering Approaches to Airborne Infection Control from Harvard School of Public Health for Continuation in Education. I have presently finished studying a 12 month Health Management Programme with the Foundation Development Business School, South Africa awaiting certification and I also have a certificate in Fundamentals of Infection Prevention and Control with the Faculty of Health Sciences Stellenbosch University, Tygerberg Hospital South Africa

I am presently employed and working in the National Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory under the National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP) Ministry of Health and Child Care as a principal medical laboratory scientist. I have 30 years of experience in a pathology laboratory and 15 years in the National Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory and the National Tuberculosis Programme implementing and formulating tuberculosis policies and contributing to the stewardship and health system strengthening of the entire NTP programme and its TB Smear Microscopy Network and quality assurance. (i.e. TB smear microscopy, culture and drug susceptibility testing (DST) in solid and liquid media, and rapid molecular testing for samples sent from all over the country including setting up of a NTP TB smear laboratory network its monitoring and evaluation i.e. quality assurance. quality control, procurement of reagents and ensuring that appropriate and proper standards are implemented and applied including the human resource system strengthening)

Within the 15 years of my experience in the National Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory and the National Tuberculosis Control Programme I have contributing to policy formulation and to ensure proper and appropriate implementation of the tuberculosis diagnosis, treatment, control and conducting TB smear microscopy tests, TB culture tests, drug susceptibility test for diagnosis of tuberculosis, MDR-TB, and monitoring treatment and external quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation of the National Tuberculosis Control (NTP) programme TB smear laboratory network including trainings for the National Tuberculosis Control programme and its network, budget planning and working with donor funders and ministry of health and child care in the management of public health management funds. Also within the 15 years I have four years in the managerial post acting as Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist including administrative work for the NTP TB Smear Microscopy Laboratory Network.

I have been one of the seven health management board members of Ingutsheni Central Hospital contributing to policy formulation and implementation.

I am affiliated to a non-governmental organization (Community Based Early TB Diagnosis Initiative and Consultancy) which is my brain child on my spare time I coordinate advocacy, communication and social mobilization for TB control it has contributed to the stewardship of advocacy, communication and social mobilization of the NTP programme..

I am computer literate with the knowledge of MS Word, Power Point, Excel and Internet.
