`Jolly Phonics has gone very well this week. Thank you so much for practicing the name of the letter, sound it makes, and action each night! Please remember to start at the very beginning of the booklet and review all of the letters each night, not just the new one.Due to our guidance and library lessons today, we did not have time for a new letter. I have the kids sound books at school. Look for them again on Monday.
`We had a very busy week learning about green and red choices. Please ask your child to tell you three green and three red choices. We also spent a lot of time listening to stories that teach teamwork, sharing, caring about others and the Golden Rule. Some beautiful art projects were made as well and are hanging in our room and hallway. (also pictured at the top)
`The September book orders were sent home today. If you would like to take advantage of the great prices that Scholastic offers, you can order books online. Our classroom code is LTBRC. You will needto enter that code when you order. The orders need to be posted by next week Friday, September 16th. It will take about 1-2 from then for the books to arrive. No cash orders please.
`You received a copy of the Child of the Week schedule for the year. Please make note of what week your child is signed up for. More information will come home to you prior to their week.
`Please remember to go through and read the papers in your folder each night. The only things that should come back to school in their folder are notes from home, lunch money, Popcorn money (when the program starts), and Jolly Phonics Sound Books. All other papers should stay at home.
`Reminders:
* Please send a filled water bottle to school every day.
*Monday is picture day for those children who did not attend forms night.
`I am still looking for volunteers for Wednesday or Thursday mornings from 10:30-12:00. If you can help out please let me know. For those of you have already sent me a note, I will try to get a schedule out by the end of next.
`We have a new art teacher, Mrs. Dykstra. She would like the children to have an art smock at school. Please send one when you can.
