Week of Sept. 12th

- Please check out my website. I am continually adding videos, songs, information, websites and other fun and important items to the website. I also have some 4th grade Animal Glogsters to view. - 4th and 5th graders need to study their multiplication facts. We will begin Mastery Club by the end of the week.

3rd Grade
MATH:
We have begun our unit on adding and subtracting whole numbers up to 4 digits. We are also subtracting 3 digit numbers with zeros. Please look in agenda book for a quiz by the end of the week or early next week.
Soon we will begin multiplication. You may want to go ahead and get a set of multiplication cards for practice at home.

SCIENCE: We have begun our animal unit. We are studying food chains, life cycles and adaptations this week. Look for a study guide before fall break.

4th GRADE
MATH:
We have been working on adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers. Last week we talked about clue words for addition and subtraction. This week we will look for the clue words in addition and subtraction word problems. By the end of the week we will be reviewing basic multiplication and division facts.

SCIENCE:
We are discussing the characteristics of mammals, reptile, birds, fish, and amphibians. We are also talking about food chains and inherited/learned traits of animals.

5th GRADE

This week we will add and subtract decimals. Look for a quiz in the agenda book for a quiz. After the quiz, we will begin multiplying multi-digit whole numbers and decimals. Please continue to study your multiplication facts.

SCIENCE:
We are working on an animal project using a technology tool called GLOGSTER. We will finish the project this week and share in class on Friday. Before fall break, we will have a science vocabulary quiz. Look for the quiz in the agenda book. Your child will bring home their science interactive notebooks to share.
