Workshop 9-5 p.m. June 25th – 29th, 2018 8hours times 5 days 40 hours minus lunch35 hours in class learning.

Homework, reflection questions: 15 total hours for the week

Please take time after each class to reflect on the lesson from Ms. Watson and Dr. Whitehead with the following outline of questions:

  1. How can I use the movement, eurhythmics, and body percussion concepts and activities in my own curriculum?
  2. What specific exercises can help strengthen weak areas in my teaching skills?
  3. What activities that I learned am I really comfortable using immediately in my classroom in the fall?
  4. Which activities do I need to practice to add to my teaching skills that would be beneficial to the success and achievements of my students?
  5. Review videos and reading from your prep list.

Post reflection: 25 hours

Please take time to answer in depth these questions in relation to the material introduced and developed in the course:

  1. What part (parts) of the pedagogy and activities that I learned reflect present strengths in my teaching skills and classroom management?
  2. What activities introduced each day help me realize certain weaknesses in my teaching style?
  3. What movement activities could help me strengthen and improve my educational skills as a teacher by using more movement in my curriculum in the classroom?
  4. Review class notes, videos, and reading articles to help you answer the question, how has this experience changed the way I will incorporate movement into the general music classroom?
