MOVE is an EVS project that will involve 4 volunteers, promoted by Centro Social de Ermesinde, ascoordinator and host organization (Portugal) and 4 sending organizations: YouNet – Italy; Compass Europa -Hungary; Ayuntamiento de Alicante – Spain; StowarzyszenieJedenSwiat – Poland.

1. Create opportunities for learning and discovery, stimulating the critical thinking and the creativity;

2. Promote the development of teamwork skills, the organization of events, multimedia production;

3. Knowledge about the environment, community and local habits;

4. Disseminate the richness of multiculturalism;

5. Develop skills for actions in the field of youth participation;

6. Increase strategies for fundraising;

7. Sharing experiences in intercultural exchanges.

So, we will involve the four volunteers in different tasks, focused on the training of young people and the development of the local community, such as:

• Participate in coordination and implementation of activities with the CSE staff or other volunteers (eg. training, seminars, workshops, cultural activities, debates on Erasmus + projects and other international initiatives);

• Develop and implement their own local activities / projects, with monitoring and evaluation (eg. workshops, film sessions, community support, cultural exchanges, group discussions);

• Support other local volunteers in the development of their own projects (eg. youth entrepreneurship initiatives);

• Collaborate with local organizations on specific activities (more learning opportunities, more impact, more involvement);

• Collaborate with the CSE in the strategy of operation, communication, marketing and promotion for showing their activity (eg. presentation of the institution, preparation of projects for fundraising, multimedia editing).

The project

Apartment with 4 bedrooms (1 bedroom per volunteer) with a living and dining room, a kitchen, laundry room and 2 bathrooms; the house have free Wi-Fi connection; the lunch and dinner takes place in the host organization; and will be provided weekly food for the breakfast and snacks at the accommodation.
The accommodation is near to the Ermesinde center and the organization.

Activities - each voluntunteer have the opportunity to have experiences in different areas or choicing only one to development his work:

1. Papalagui E6G (environmental project for young people under the Program Choices – a national program for social intervention with youngster with less opportunities);

• Training (artistic, environmental, cultural, multimedia), computer science;

• Awareness-raising actions with the community about the Porto Mountains Park;

• Preparation of artistic performances;

• Definition of trails in the Porto Mountains Park for leisure;

• Help the development of entrepreneurship projects;

• Development of computer and multimedia activities.

2. "A Voz de Ermesinde"local newspaper (journalism and multimedia)

• Initiation to journalism;

• Creation of a monthly chronicle on the juvenile life of the county;

• Information management on social networks;

• Management of the newspaper archive.

3. Extra Curricular Activities (ATL)

• Support to study;

• Study methodologies;

• Time management;

• Sports.

4. Activities with the elderly population (Nursing Home)

• Gerontological Gymnastics;

• Follow-up on activities of daily living;

• Support and intervention in dementia situations;

• Geriatric innovation.

Participant profile:

-Volunteers with ages between 18 and 30 (preferably);

-No preferences forgender or areas of study;

-We value those who present proposals for activities.

The selection process will be developed in seven steps:

1. Contact the Sending Organizations (SO), for star the volunteersinvitation (the project objectives and the planned activities) – 8 to 12 of May;

2. The SO will send the list of candidates -until the end of May;

3. Candidate analysis (CV & Motivation Letter) and candidate interview by Skype -1-2 of June;

4. Team meeting to evaluate and analyze proposals and interviews; selected the volunteers – 5 of June;

5. Communication of selection results – 6 of June;

6. If the first choice give up we contact the second of the candidate list;

7. Meeting by Skype with the volunteers to prepare the VAP – 12 of June;

-Volunteers will be involved in already established activities and others that may be proposed by them. In this way, volunteers will participate in many different tasks, according to their interests. They will bring new perspectives and new energy to the CSE and the Valongo community, as well as to the target groups of activities.

-Volunteers will not replace paid staff and will be supported and accompanied by the team (mentor, tutor). Volunteers will not perform routine tasks that are normally performed by employees and will not perform high responsibility tasks alone or without supervision.

We encourage the volunteers to use their own ideas, creativity and experience in developing their own projects or activities, related to the objectives of the CSE.
