December 3,2012

The Tripoli City Council held a regular council meeting on Monday, December3, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall with Mayor Ranardpresiding. Also present were: Morgan Bergmann, Kenny Hennings, Mark Goodenbour, Dennis Miller, Tom Blume, and Carter Stevens.

Mayor Ranardcalled the meeting to order with roll call. All councilpersons were in attendance.

Motion Ambrose second Kirchhoffto approve the agenda. AA MC.

Mayor Ranard asked for public comments. None were received.

MotionWoodssecond Ambrose to approve the minutes from November 19, 2012. AA MC.

Tom Blume gave his Action/Pool report. The lift for the pool is ordered and should arrive within the next few weeks. The baby pool is now up and running. Basketball leagues have begun. Motion Homeister second Sievers to approve this report. AA MC.

Motion Sievers second Kirchhoff to hire Kessler Schulmeister as a snow plow driver at $12.00 per hour. AA MC.

Motion Ambrose second Woods to table the street report. AA MC.

Motion Kirchhoff second Homeister to approve Courtney Anderson as a Tripoli Ambulance Cadet member. AA MC.

Discussion with Attorney Stevens on hunting/trapping in city limits. Carter will draft an ordinance and bring to the council for review.

There is a Bike Trail meeting on Thursday. Kevin Blanshan from INRCOG will be there to explain the grant. Kenny discussed future funding for the trail. It appears there will be $148,000 left to fund, depending on how much is received in donations. The council needs to decide if they wish to budget money next fiscal year for the bike trail. They are working on clearing out the old Guppy’s building. Motion Ambrose second Woods to approve this report. AA MC.

Discussion on closing the alley near the creek between Main Street and 1st Street N W. The city will need to have a public hearing on closing the alley. City Clerk will draw up the paperwork.

The Mayor and Council discussed the sidewalk program. Mayor Ranard will discuss the policy with Denis Ducker.

Discussion on moving the affordable housing to the old Action property. The Mayor and Council will discuss this at a future meeting.

Nothing for the Mayor update.

Council and Mayor will meet Tuesday, December 4th at 6:00 pm to review the applications for the police chief job.
