Change #1 to read: Advocate for the implementation of service-learning based on the national standards. Change passed, revision dated 09/09/09.

Bylaws

Removed bylaw list dated June, 2002 and retained bylaws updated September 5, 2006.

Amended grants funding $76,000; five grants awarded. Current 2009-10 Service-Learning Grant has $120,000 available, grants due September 16, 3 pm, reading on 17th, grants to be awarded on the 21st.

This year’s projects include:

After school programs

Character Plus joint venture with Champions for Character Program – open to public schools only, scholarships to schools awarded.

Student mini-grants now have deadlines, no open submission; deadlines coincide with MOSLAC meeting dates.

Formula Grant in increments of $5,000; $10,000; and $20,000

Recognize FoxSchool District’s accomplishments and commitment to service-learning

Champion for Character Award recipient.

Recognize St. LouisCommunity College on Presidents Honor Roll for Service-Learning

PeaceJam this year’s agenda

Involving partners in the conference, advertise in the program

Full page $100.00, ½ page $50.00, ¼ page $25.00, and business card $15.00. Check made out to MOSLN, businesses will be thanked at the conference. Ads and payment to be sent to Jan, format for ads in Word, PDF, or Publisher.

All proceeds to go back in to S-L

Belton is in charge of the decorations

Each speaker will receive a gift basket filled with articles made in Missouri and a plaque with a picture of the speaker and the youth in attendance

Best Practices

Using guide created in Florida Learn and Serve for Standards, create a guide for Missouri with Missouri examples. By next meeting, each sub- group will have one Standard complete with 3 examples (elementary, secondary, and college) including rural examples and all regions. Possible future project: the development or identification of a tool for tracking student co-curricular involvement. Send examples of S-L projects to Melissa or Betty.
