Mort & Agatha Winski Memorial Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria:

·  Student must have completed 12 units each semester at MiraCosta with a 3.0 GPA each semester

·  Must be currently enrolled full-time (12 units),

·  Maintain a 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) and full-time enrollment each semester to be eligible for renewal

·  Have financial need

·  Personal Statement outlining Career and Educational Goals, Extracurricular Activities, and Other Information about yourself you would like to share

·  Letter of Recommendation from a MiraCosta counselor or instructor to include: motivation, class participation, preparedness, attendance, and comprehension

·  $500 renewable scholarship up to four semesters (fall/spring) to students who continue to meet the criteria of maintaining full-time enrollment, 3.0 GPA each semester, financial need

·  The scholarship is not transferrable

Award Process

·  Scholarship award is based on eligibility, Personal Statement, and Letter of Recommendation

·  Scholarship awards will be disbursed up to four semesters (fall/spring) at $500 each to students who continue to meet the eligibility criteria

·  Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend the annual MiraCosta Scholarship Awards Celebration in May

·  Students not chosen for a scholarship will be notified by e-mail

·  A scholarship check is disbursed when proof of full-time enrollment, 3.0 GPA, and thank you letter addressed to the donor are received.

·  Renewed students will be notified by email after the add-drop date each fall and spring semester, and are required to submit an updated thank you letter to the donor before receiving their scholarship check

·  Scholarship checks are distributed through the Student Accounts/Cashier’s office, Bldg. 3202, on the Oceanside campus.
