Welcome to Bournemouth RFC

Welcome to the new season with BRFC. And thank you for either renewing, or taking up for the first time, membership of your local community based club.

Whether you aim to play for orfollow the 1st XV, one of the other senior teams or the Academy and Mini teams, or indeed all of them,I sincerely hope that you will enjoy the experience.

All of BRFC’s teams aim to play open, fast and entertaining rugby. We also hope to instil the rugby ethos – that of team spirit, sporting behaviour and respect for others. This applies, of course, both on and off the field of play. And I hope that we can, as a club, maintain the respect and admiration of our peers and the general public.

Should you discover that you really enjoy the rugby experience perhaps you would consider volunteering for some of the many roles which make the club such a wonderful place to be. If you do then please contact any one of the committee members either in person or by email/phone – we are all listed on the club website.

Once again thank you for being a member of this great club and enjoy the rugby

With all best wishes

Phil Sinkinson

Chairman

A bit more information:

Bournemouth Rugby club was established in 1893 and has grown year on year since. We now run 4 senior teams, Touch, 2 colt teams, 4 academy and 6 midi/mini teams as well as a very popular U6 age group. We are looking to introduce a girls’ team again in the coming season and are working hard behind the scenes to do so.

The club has recently been awarded RFU accreditation status. The club accreditation scheme is based on 6 key drivers identified as crucial to a strong club:

  1. Retaining and developing players
  2. Recruiting new players
  3. Recruiting and retaining high quality coaches, volunteers and referees
  4. Effective and efficient facilities
  5. Effective and efficient management and Governance
  6. Integration with the local community.

Each of these key drivers, together with the core values of the game s represented within the club accreditation scheme and together they represent the component parts of a strong, sustainable club.

This is an exciting and challenging time for our rugby club and is a great time to become involved with the club. We are looking forward to getting some new volunteers this year across the whole club for various roles, so if you are interested please let us know. We offer the best facilities and opportunities in the area and with more support we will be able to achieve much more for the coming season. If you have any skills that you think you could offer please talk to any of the club officials or contact . It doesn’t need to be every week or even many hours; sometimes the small things are just as important as the things that take lots of time. We have a task force for all of the little maintenance jobs that need doing and committees for the running of the club. We are happy to hear from anyone with skills to offer, even making tea and coffee for the coaches on cold evenings, typing documents, etc.

Running a rugby club is costly and we are always looking for sponsorship opportunities, for the whole club or individual teams or players. Sponsoring your favourite player will cover their subs and give you valuable advertising space in the match day programmes and on the website. Sponsorship is a great way to show your support for and be part of the club. Various packages are available please contact for further details.

Our Academy and Mini section hold an annual fundraising tournament. This needs a lot of help behind the scenes to be successful and we would welcome more support to prepare for that. In particular we are looking for someone to be responsible for collecting all of the adverts for the program and sending out the invoices. If you think you are able to support the tournament organisers please contact for further details.

And don’t forget the chance to win money by joining our 200 Club: draws are monthly and we give cash prizes. See the club website for more information and a list of available numbers or contact .
