MONDO NATURA 2007 - WORKSHOPS, CONFERENCES & LARGE EXHIBITIONS

At the International Motorhome, Caravan, Camping & Outdoor Vacation Show

Rimini, 26th June 2007 – At MONDO NATURA, the 14thInternational Motorhome, Caravan, Camping & Outdoor Vacation Show (Rimini Fiera, 8 - 16 September 2007), as well as the extraordinary showcase of new products, the public will also find conferences, exhibitions, travel reports, sports events and gastronomic appointments.Some advance news follows.

APC-ANFIA:GREAT EXPECTATION FOR THE TRADE FIGURES

There is already eager expectation for the opening press conference, during which, as is already the tradition, the Motorhome Manufacturers Association (APC)-ANFIA will present the trade’s figures.Definitive 2006 registrations will be announced, the market trends for the first months of 2007 updated and styles and trends discussed.In fact, this year, a researcher from AC-Nielsen will take part, describing the survey carried out by the prestigious institute on behalf of the Motorhome Manufacturers Association, which shows that motorhomes are increasingly becoming alifestyle that knows no frontiers, adopted by three million people inEurope. More specifically, in Italy 827,000 people aged over fourteen travel by motorhome.

At Mondo Natura, APC-ANFIA will also dedicate space to other initiatives.In fact, the close relationship between APC- ANFIA and Assocampcontinues for the protection of Italian caravanning issues.

Assocamp (dealers association)is also boosting promotion of the motorhome way of life and action to increase the awareness of local administration and major national institutions involved in various ways in the Transport, Tourism and Environment sectors.

This year, Rimini Fiera expo centre will once again host the "Outdoor Vacation Municipalities" awards ceremony.This initiative, promoted since 2001 by the motorhome manufacturers - with the sponsorship of the ANCI (National Association of Italian Municipalities) and Res Tipica (the organization for the promotion ofterritorial identity) –was participated in by 49 Italian municipalities, each of which presenteda project formotorhome areasthat are environment-friendly andwell integratedin the tourist facilities of their local areas.

Lastly, in memory of Luano Niccolai, APC-ANFIA is organizing two scholarships for graduates and final year students; notification of the initiative was given precisely on the occasion of the Rimini show.The Association pays its tribute to the memory of the founder and chairman of Rimor, recalling his key distinctive traits -entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, intuition and vision - traits that are at the basis of the topics of the scholarships:“Open-air tourism in Italy:social-demographic survey on users, implications and economic potential of the sector" and "Project motorhome:relationships between the external lines and availability of interior space in motorhomes".

PLEIN AIR PRESENTS “THE PLEIN AIR WORKSHOP”

AND, IN COLLABORATION WITH “OLTREMARE” PARK, “THE LAYBIRD PARTY”

With its founder and editor, Raffaele Jannucci, leading magazine PleinAirhas planned a series of initiatives able to draw the interest of the high-varied world of homes on wheels.We are giving advance news on two, and shall give details of the others in future press releases.

The first:“The Plein Air Workshop”In collaboration with Arezzo Provincial government and the Casentino Tuscan Community, PleinAir will present an initiative aimed at helping people to discover and interpret the reasons for pleinair.It will be a real experimentation centre, which, in four sessions, will propose some of the aspects at the basis of nature-friendly tourism.Each session will involve 200 readers (approximately 70 motorhomes).The topics are:Kiddies and pleinair; Nature – the lymph of vacations; Traditional country food; the methods for discovering places.The initiative, which will have a high cultural impact, will be presented onthe occasion of MONDO NATURA 2007, during an event at which some environmental expressions of the Casentino area will be shown: this area is ideal for a research workshop – or rather applied research.

The second initiative is dedicated to kiddies.It will be presented at MONDO NATURA and will be held simultaneously with one of the exhibition days atRiccione’s Oltremare Park.The event is entitled “The Ladybird Party”.The kiddies will meet at Oltremare, where each of them will be given a small box containing ladybirds.At a given signal, all together, the kiddies will open the boxes and the ladybirds will be free to fly away.This will be a tribute to the symbol that has accompanied the MONDO NATURA logo in its fifteen years history.

MEETINGS & CONFERENCES

Among the meetings and conferences planned for MONDO NATURA 2007, there is one on Friday 14th September, at 3.00 pm, with a debate organized by the Camper Club La Grandaon "Motorhome pink:when travelling tourism is female".Introduction by Beppe Tassone, Chairman of Camper Club La Granda.Speakers:Simona Benzi, Editor-in-chief,Turismo all'Aria Aperta; Lucia Jannucci, Managing editior, PleinAir; Lorenza Giuliani, Editor-in-chief,Autocaravan Notizie; Nirvana Kucich,Editorial staffer, Insieme; Claudia Reali, Editorial staffer,Caravan e Camper; Graziella Vignazza, Editorial staffer, Insieme.

On Saturday 15th September at 10.30 am, PROMOCAMP and Rimini Fiera are organizing a conference entitled:“A great national project for sustainable tourism:travelling tourism –Exploiting the widespread territorial peculiarities and hospitality tourist network”.This will be the opportunity to present the association’s reasons, analyses and proposals regarding the promotion of a general hospitality project for travelling tourism.Also under examination, opportunities for financing (E.U. andother Institutions) andintegrated territory-hospitality area projects.Plans for macro areas will be described, as will proposals by Clubs,as well as theannouncement of requestssubmitted to Municipalities to realize anetwork ofminimum servicesfor hostingmotorhome owners and campers.

“REDISCOVERING THE AMERICAS”:

MONDO NATURA 2007 HOSTS AN EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO GREAT EXPLORATIONS

The “ARDITO DESIO” Association willpresent the exhibition “Rediscovering the Americas”,by Giuseppe Rivalta and Dario Brignole.It is an illustrated journey to discover the New World, which, starting with the Vikings and touchingColombo, will bring to mind the era of great explorations across the Atlanticwith journeys by Cabot, Vespucci, Verrazzano, Balboa, Magellan and Hudson.

The exhibition’s large panels will followAmerica’s cartographic evolution, from the Turkish maps to thecomputerized satellite photographs.Analyzing the geologic transformation of the American continent, which lasted hundreds of millions of years and has not yet finished, its climatic areas, the distribution of the vegetation, the animal population.It reconstructs the history of the peoples who have inhabited it:From homo sapiens who arrived across the Bering Land Bridge, to the Anasazi, not to mention the pueblos, native Americans Indians, Mayas, Aztecs, etc., through to the story of the Spanish conquistadores, the English and French colonies and the trappers.The exhibition also dedicates space to the scientific discoveries, the Gold Rush and oil drilling, the Italian immigrants – particularly those from Emilia-Romagna – and finishes with the challenges of the future.

A fascinating journey, but not just virtual and back through time.In fact, the association has planned a real tourfrom TerraDel Fuego to Alaskawhich, from January 2008, will travel up through Argentina and, passing through Ecuador, continue in stages until in July 2009 – via Panama–it crosses the States United, with stops for exhibitions, conferences and visits.In the area set up at the expo centre, there will also be off-road vehicle that will be use for the raid.

It must be remembered that MONDO NATURA 2007 will present 400 companiesin110,000 square metres:on show: motorhomes, caravans, pickups, small prefabricated homes, trailers, accessories, tents, clothing and instruments for open-air tourism, tourist promotion, services; trade press….

LUOGHI (PLACES), THE EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO NEW VACATION TOURISTS

The third edition of the “LUOGHI” (Places) show, dedicated to “new vacation” tourists, will be held simultaneously.LUOGHI participants includevillages, hamlets, parks, mountain communities, nature reserves, theme routes, regional andprovincial governments, local tourist boards, “Roads of Flavours”. LUOGHI has the sponsorship of the ANESV AGIS (National Association of Travelling Show Owners and Permanent Italian Parks), ANCI (National Association of Italian Municipalities), Emilia Romagna Regional Government - Tourism Department, Italian Touring Club, FEDERPARCHI (Italian Federation of Parks and Natural Reserves),UNICEM (National Union of Mountain Community Municipalities), UNIONPARCHI (Union of Italian Recreation Parks) and UNPLI (National Union of Local Tourist Boards).
