Spirit Week

Monday: Dress to Impress (Students wear their best)

  • Students dress as their dress to impress.
  • Red carpet going down the ramp, STUCO members at the end to take photos to post on the STUCO board. (Start at 7:30 to 7:45)
  • Vogue at the end of the Red CarpetWalk
  • Boy and girl with the best outfit wins. 1 spirit point to each of their classes
  • Text photos to Wallace school phone for judging. Winners announced at end of school day.
  • Activity: After School work on FLOAT

Tuesday: J Day (Jeans, Jennings, and Jordans)

  • Students wear denim or Jennings shirts
  • Students MUST wear appropriate clothing (follow school dress code).
  • Activity: After School Powder Buff Volleyball in A- Gym @ 3:30-4:30 PM
  • $2 admission ($1 for STUCO, $1 for Special Olympics of Missouri)
  • Freshman/Seniors play against Juniors/Sophomores winning classes receive 5 spirit points, losing classes receive 2 spirit points

Wednesday: What are those Wednesday?

  • Students wear the craziest sock and shoe combination they have. (Students wear uniforms (top and bottom)
  • Competition:
  • Boy and girl with the craziest combination wins. 1 spirit point to each of their classes.
  • Text photos to Wallace school phone for judging. Winners announced at end of school day.
  • Activity: After School Work on FLOAT

Thursday: Wear your favorite Sports and College Jersey, Shirt, or Sweater with uniform bottoms

  • Competition:
  • Boy and girl with the best St. Louis Sports Team gear wins. 1 spirit point to each of their classes.
  • Judging: Text photos to Wallace school phone for judging. Winners announced at end of school day.
  • Activity: After School Powder Puff Football on Turf Football Field @ 3:30-4:30 PM
  • $2 admission ($1 for STUCO, $1 for Special Olympics of Missouri)
  • Freshman/Seniors play against Juniors/Sophomores winning classes receive 7 spirit points, losing classes receive 3 spirit points

Friday: Rep Your Class Day

  • Students wear corresponding class colors (Top and Bottoms)
  • Freshmen- Brown
  • Sophomores- Blue
  • Juniors- White
  • Seniors- Black
  • Competition: Class
  • Each class is responsible for taking a CLASS picture at the Pep Rally. Best class photo receives 8 spirit points, 2nd best receives 6 spirit points, 3rd best receives 4 spirit points, and 4th best receives 2 spirit points. Winners announced at the pep rally.
  • Judging based off number of students dressed in their designated color in photos.
  • Activity: After School FINISH FLOATS

Competitions

Class Float

●Each class of representatives is responsible for decorating part of the schoolfloat for the homecoming parade.

Staff Decorate Doors

  • Each staff member may decorate their door.(Candyland themed).
  • Judging done before school on Friday morning: 2 representatives from each class will vote on the most decorative door. Winner will be announced at pep rally.

Pep Rally

(Outside on Football Field)

2:00 pm to 2:50 pm

Bring book bag we will not go back into the Building

Activities (not in order)

  • Band performances (Coonrod)
  • Appropriate music
  • Winners of week-long competitions announced (after games)
  • Homecoming Court Winners
  • Games- Minute to Win it!

○Tissue Box Wars

■1 student per class. Attach an empty tissue box with balls inside to butt. Contestants shake, first one get ball out wins.

○Skittle Scurry

■1 student per class. Clock set to 1 minute. Need a bowl, cup and straw. Contestants suck one skittle at a time from the bowl thru the straw, then place it in cup at end of table. Player with the most skittles when time runs out wins.

○Balloon Head

■1 student per class. 1 inflated balloon per player. Contestants attempt to keep balloon in the air only using their heads. (No hand, foot, or other body part contact). Player who keeps balloon in the air wins.

Mega Bubble Blower

■1 student per class. Need pieces of bubblegum. Player chooses how many pieces of gum they'd like to chew. Contestants stand alongside each other and blow the biggest bubble they can. Player with the biggest bubble wins.

○Dizzy Mummy

■2 students per class. Need a roll of toilet paper per pair. One player holds one end of toilet paper while the other holds the roll. Contestant with the toilet paper will spin around as fast as they can until all the paper is off the roll and they are completely wrapped. Pair who is done first wins.

○Nosedive

■1 student per class. Need cotton balls and petroleum jelly. Set up two bowls, one full of cotton balls, the other one empty. Contestants apply petroleum jelly on their noses, and try to get as many cotton balls from one bowl to another using ONLY their noses. Player with the most cotton balls in their bowl wins.

●Additional Game

○“Crowded Chairs”

■Start out with 7 chairs, and eight players (2 from each class). Students will be asked to go out into the crowd and find a specific item such as an all white shoe, a piece of chewing gum, a hat, etc.. Crowd members can interact by trying to help members of their class. Since the game is a race, the first 7 students to come back with these items sit in a chair. The last person who doesn’t have a chair to sit in is eliminated. Continue for 6 rounds. Last student to remain in the chair wins.

★This would be great to have at the pep rally. Buying two of these wouldn’t hurt! Could even use this in the homecoming parade, game, and future sports events.
