Position Summary: Leads and manages all plant and yard operations. Sets work standards and goals and holds team accountable. Supports and implements adherence to company policies and procedures. Ensures safe working environment and is accountable for profitability of plant operations.
Essential Functions:
Leadership:
- Responsible for selection of team players and performance outcomes
- Accountable to Plant Foremen and Supervisors for their growth and development
- Accountable for new hire orientations, all job training and retraining
- Keeps team informed of company goals/objectives and policies/procedures
- Provides ongoing feedback on attainment of predetermined objectives with regard to individual, departmental and companywide performance
- Secures accurate job descriptions for plant employees; set standards and goals for direct reports
- Acts as liaison between other Department Managers of Molin and PlantOperations to maximize customer satisfaction
- Uses JSA’s to provide awareness of all the hazards in the plant and systems to manage the risks
- Assures safe operations are maintained within all Departments by holding each supervisor accountable for safe behaviors and proper use of PPE at all times
- Ensures that employees receive initial and annual training on PPE use
- Assists safety director in maintaining documentation that each team member has received new hire, PPE, annual AWAIR/ERTK, and all other OSHA mandated training and retraining as needed.
- Participates in setting direction for Safety by serving on the Company’s Safety Management Committee.
- Holds team accountable for timely reporting of Near Miss and Accidents; participates in accident investigations
- Identifies, develops, implements, and sustains Lean Manufacturing practices within the yard and plant operations
- Organizes work tasks for efficient execution, ensuring quality products are produced in proper quantities in time to meet commitments to customers
- Works with other internal customers to identify process improvements on a continuous basis
- Assists Purchasing with maintaining proper inventories levels and correct specifications to meet production needs
- Participates and leads projects for continuous improvement (e.g. kaizen)
- Works with each Plant Department Supervisor to develop annual budgets for financial performance
- Develops business plans for all capital expenditures included in budgets.
- Responsible for timely actions/reactions to ensure budget guidelines are met or exceeded.
- Manage waste removal and recycling efforts.
- Purchase all specialty materials required for production. (e.g. specialty aggregate, form liners, blast materials, and surface retarders.
- Provides input during union negotiations; upholds the terms and conditions of contracts
- Determine guidelines for use ofraw materials and reinforcements for each project, including pricing parameters and quality/quantity standards to ensure product outcomes.
Education and Experience:
- High school degree required; prefer 4-year degree or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years experience in a leadership capacity within a production facility; precast industry experience preferred

Licenses/Certificates:
Valid driver’s license
Green belt in Lean Manufacturing preferred
Physical Demands:
- Ability to navigate large distances on uneven ground
- Sit or stand for long periods of time
- Occasionally lift 30 lbs.; infrequently lift 40 lbs.
- Some bending, twisting, reaching, pulling, and pushing
Environmental & Working Conditions: Frequent daily exposure to noise, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures (hot and cold) chemicals, and welding flashes with exposures controlled through proper use of PPE
