Developing emotional intelligence is a short course designed to equip participants with the necessary tools for using emotional intelligence to enhance relationships, work performance, and personal well- being
Outputs/ Activities / At the end of the program, participants will be able to:
  1. Define the concept of emotional intelligence and its different components
  2. Describe the role of emotions and patterns of emotional responding in their self, relational, and professional functioning
  3. Apply strategies for enhancing emotional competence

Modular Description /

Module I: Emotion and Emotional Intelligence (Day 1)

Participants will learn about the centrality of emotions in human functioning and everyday life, particularly in work and relational contexts. They will be introduced to the concept of emotional intelligence, and how it contributes to personal well- being, healthier relationships, and more positice work life.
Module II: Understanding Emotions and Employing Emotional Knowledge (Day 1- 2)
Participants will learn how emotional self- awareness is the foundation of emotional intelligence. The facilitator will guide participants in assessing and developing their level of emotional awareness. Further, the facilitator will guide participants in assessing and developing their level of emotional awareness. Further, participants will learn the importance of recognizing and emphathizing with others’ emotions. Participants will be guided in assessing their level of sensitivity to others’ emotions, and will be provided with tools for developing this skill. Finally, strategies for effective emotional communication will be tackled.

Module III: Understanding Emotions and Employing Emotional Knowledge (Day 2)

Participants will learn about the meanings that various emotions convey, the relationships among different emotions, and the situations that bring these about in their lives. How such knowledge may be employed to better understand social situations and relationships, and solve problems pertaining to these, will be discussed
Module 4: Regulations of Emotions for Growth (Day 3)
Participants will learn how openness to, monitoring, and regulation of one’s emotions leads to higher levels of personal well- being, positive relationships, and the attainment of goals. The participants will be guided in recognizing adaptive and maladaptive patterns of emotional responding. Concrete strategies for managing one’s emotions in personal and work settings will be discussed.
Schedule/ Venue / Sessions will be from 8:30 am- 5:30pm at the Ateneo CORD Training Room (if unfamiliar with the venue pls. request for a map)
Fee / Total program fee: P 10,000 (Corp) and P 7,000 (Noncorp) The Noncorp fee applies to individuals employed in the Government, NGO, Academe or Religious Institutions. Fee includes food and training materials
