Current / Proposed Amendment / Rationale
1 / No significant change to course content. Currently 6 hours practical work. / Increased lab work from 6 to 10 hours and problem classes from 0 to 6 hours. / The assessment of the first part of the course will be problem-based, so there is an increase in both the problem classes and lab classes.
2 / All teaching to be provided by Geography. / First part of course (introductory calculus, trigonometry, stats and linear algebra) will be taught by CEGE as part of their Analytical Methods course (GEOMG042). This is already taken by MSc Remote Sensing students, and will be taken by Env. Modelling students also. / For efficiency and to avoid unnecessary duplication of teaching we will utilise existing material. The linear methods, stats and basic calculus are well-served by the existing material in GEOMG042. The second part of the course is tailored to broader numerical methods and applications.
