MMYSL Club Pass Policy
Objective
The objective of Mid-Michigan Youth Soccer League’s club pass card policy it to allow coaches to move players within their own club to meet the developmental needs of the players and teams.
Players Affected.
Only players and teams currently registered in the MMYSL whose clubs choose to participate.
A club pass player can only be used during any MMYSL league seasonal game.
The club pass system does not apply to tournaments, Region II National League, State Cup, MSPSP, etc. However, teams utilizing MMYSL club pass cards must meet all other roster requirements, specifically not exceeding the age group’s game day roster limit (11 players for 6v6, 14 for 8v8 and 18 for 11v11).
Allowable Club Pass
•Players may only play at the age level of their primary team or higher
•Players may only play in the competitive bracket or higher of their primary team. If a player is in the white bracket they can play for another club team in that bracket or a club team in the red bracket.
•Player must be a member of MMYSL.
•Female players can club pass to a male team meeting the same criteria for age and bracket.
Restrictions
•The club pass cannot be used to play down in level of their primary team. (Ex. Players can’t from a red division are not allowed to pass to a team in the white division of the same age group)
•The club pass cannot be used to play in an age group younger than their primary team.
•The club pass cannot be used to play on another team the same division.
•The club pass cannot be used for a player in a different league (ex: Michigan State Premier); club passes only work within MMYSL games
•The club pass cannot be used to bring more than the legal amount of players to each game (12 for 7v7, 16 for 9v9, 18 for 11v11)
Abuse of the club pass will result in forfeiture of the match, as well as potential fines and suspension of both the player and coach.
CoachResponsibilities
•Designate all club pass players on your game report before the match.
•Notify the opposing team’s coach and the referee prior to the match of the use of club pass players, including providing the age group or bracket of the player’s primary team.
•Keep track of all yellow and red cards received by players, as suspensions will carry over and must be served in their original team’s games.
The existing rules regarding penalty points still apply. This means that cards accrued will remain with the team and will also be carried by the player wherever he/she goes. The player must sit out his/her next physically played league game regardless of which team the card was received with. Check with the players before utilizing them.
Any existing sanctions (pertaining to using ineligible players in games) already in place would still apply, such as game forfeit, fines, etc., if system is abused.
Club Responsibilities
The club will monitor and control how the club pass is used within their own club.
The club should educate your coaches, parents and players of the purpose and limits of this system, and develop a way to manage this within your organization
Each participating club will be responsible for identifying their MMYSL pass cards by adding a unique identification to the card, i.e., sticker, stamp, etc. This will enable the referee and opposing coach to visually determine that there are club pass players participating in a regular season game.
Clubs can deal with this issue by rostering the player in their true age group (rostering a player to the lowest division eligible for) and using the MMYSL Club Pass card system to play the player up on any given game day.
