Application to waive the Departmental Progression Requirements
This concerns progression from year 3 to year 4 for MSciMathematics only.
The departmental progression requirements to progress from year 3 to year 4are:
You can use this form to bring relevant mitigating circumstances to the attention of theDepartment of Mathematics, where you feel that the mitigating circumstances have affected your overall exam performance and therefore your progression on the programme.
The same standards of supporting evidence as for MCFs and Academic Appeals are required.
To qualify for the discretion of the Department the form must be submitted as soon as possible and no later than the Monday after the relevant examination period ends.
Please note that:
-Your right to appeal after the Assessment Board decision is published is not affected by this form.
-Your right to submit an MCF (Mitigating Circumstance Form) during the relevant exam period is not affected by this form.
-This form will have no subsequentvalue toanyone who has not met the College progression rule stated above.

Outcome
You will be notified, via your KCL email address, of the department's decision normally around the time of the Faculty Assessment Board meeting following the August examinations.
The outcome will normally be one of the following:
Accepted- Provisionally accepted subject to receipt of satisfactory supporting documentation
- Departmental progression criteria waived if progression criteria is not met.
- Circumstance described is not a valid reason;
- Supporting documentation not provided in time.
- Supporting documentation inappropriate;
- Supporting documentation unacceptable.
