Tournament Rules

Here is a list of the 2016 Endless Summer Hockey Classic Playing Rules:

  • The current 2013-17 USA Hockey Playing Rules will be in effect for each division specific to each division.
  • In the interest of good sportsmanship, each team is being urged to recognize that a Game Misconduct penalty is subject to ejection from the 2015 Endless Summer Hockey Classic Youth Tournament.
  • All appeals must be in writing and submitted to the Tournament Committee for immediate disposition.
  • Game times will be three 15 minute stop time periods for Squirts thru Midget, with a 5 minute warm-up. In the event of a 6 goal differential, the 3rd period will automatically become a running time period.
  • If overtime becomes necessary to determine the winner for a Consolation or Championship Game, a 5 minute sudden death period will immediately follow regulation time.
  • If necessary, a five man shoot-out will follow the sudden death period. It will repeat with new shootersuntil a winner is decided.
  • Head Contact: CAHA Rule 620 (a) will be in effect for the duration of the 2016 Endless Summer Hockey Classic. A minor plus a misconduct penalty, or a major plus a game misconduct penalty shall be assessed to any player who contacts an opponent in the head, face or neck, including with the stick or any part of the player’s body or equipment. This rule does not change or effect the wording under 620 (b) or 620 (c).

Tier Breakers will be decided as follows:

  • First Tie Breaker - MOST WINS
  • Second Tie Breaker - HEAD TO HEAD COMPETITION BETWEEN TIED TEAMS
  • Third Tie Breaker - LEAST GOALS AGAINST
  • Fourth Tie Breaker - LEAST PENALTY MINUTES

Listed below are the guidelines for the Mite ADM Division on the Pond:

  • Game times on the Pond( rink 60X100) for the Mite ADM Division are three 15 minute running time periods with a 5 minute warm-up and 1 minute break between periods. In compliance with the USA Hockey ADM program, players will make a line change every 90 seconds by the sounding of the horn. Players immediately line up at center ice for a face off.
  • On the Pond, each team will play with 4 skaters and one goaltender.
  • A penalty shot will be awarded for any minor penalty infraction.
  • Offsides are permitted but a goal scored by a shot taken from the opposing zone across the center red line will not be awarded.
  • The first team to reach 5 goals will initiate the clock to reset to score to 0 with the start of a new game. This process is repeated until the 15 minute periods have been exhausted. The scoresheet will show the total score for all 3 periods of play.
