Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this program, a participant will be able to:

Describe neurological, psychosocial, and educational aspects of traumatic brain injury.

Identify various screening tools utilized for identifying individuals who are at risk for mental health issues as they relate to self-harm or harm to others.

Explain the role of simulations in improving student learning outcomes related to clinical practice.

Target Audience

This program is intended for athletic trainers and athletic training educators.

The Student Leadership Conference, held in conjunction with the Educator’s Conference is intended for athletic training students.

You can view the handouts 1 week prior and up to 1 month after the event. Please Note: paper copies of these handouts will NOT be available onsite at this education event.

Fees (include registration and lunch)

Early bird registration (prior to Jan 15) is: $8 for students

$12 ATs – MoATA Certified members

$20 for non-MoATA members

All registrations processed after January 15, 2016 will incur an additional $5.00 fee per person.

Substitution/refund/cancellation

Any registrant who cannot attend may send a substitute from the same organization by submitting an updated registration with the name of the substitute. This information can be emailed to . The registration fee is refundable (less $2.00 processing fee) if notification of cancellation is received prior to January 15, 2016. No refunds will be issued past this date. No refunds issued for no-shows.

All refund requests must be sent in writing (postal or email) and received by Professional Meeting Chair, Scott Winslow () prior to January 15. Refunds will be processed no later than March 15, 2016.

Continuing education

The Missouri Athletic Trainers Association is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers. This program has been approved for 4.5 CEU’s in Category A.
