Monday, 03/05: Explore the Holocaust Museum using a web search. Explore the Secret Annex using an online virtual tour.
Materials: web search guide, notes on Secret Annex
- Record weekly obligations
- See second half of If You Cried, You Died and finish discussion from Friday’s class.
- Distribute vocabulary lists
- Intro Holocaust museum and webquest
- Use chromebooks to complete webquest and define vocabulary
- Assignment:
- Vocabulary quiz will be onMonday, 3/12.
Tuesday, 03/06: Explore the Holocaust Museum using a web search. Explore the Secret Annex using an online virtual tour.
Materials: web search guide, notes on Secret Annex
- Complete web quest from the Holocaust Museum
- Finish defining terms for background knowledge
- *If there is time* Go to and follow directions for touring the Secret Annex via a virtual field trip
- Assignment:
- Finish and bring all of your webquest materials and vocab with definitions to class tomorrow.

- Work collaboratively in order to discuss findings of webquest and vocabulary
- Assignment:
- Study vocab! Quiz on Monday, 3/12.
Thursday, 03/08: Demonstrate comprehension of nonfiction reading by correctly defining terms and through discussion (1.2.8 C, 1.2.8 J, 1.2.8 L)
Materials: Packet and terms list, propaganda techniques
- Review types of propaganda
- Discuss propaganda. In small groups/partnerships come up with examples of propaganda from our environment.
- Complete padlet for propaganda
- Discuss a more “formal” approach to propaganda, and use examples of Hitler’s propaganda during the Holocaust
- Assignment:
- Complete your post on the padlet.
- Remember: access the padlet through the link that was posted in Google Classroom. (When you open your email, go to the waffle in the top right. Click the waffle, click more, and click on classroom.)
- Remember to submit the assignment as being completed in Google Classroom.

Friday, 03/09:Demonstrate understanding of drama terms by listing real-life examples (1.3.8 J).
Materials: Lit books,drama terms lists.
- Distribute the list of drama terms. All definitions are supplied for you, but some of these terms might be new. Work in groups to make sure that everyone in the group understands each term. Ask for help if you need it. Then come up with an example of each term from a play, movie, or TV show that everyone in the group is familiar with. Each member of the group should write the example down next to the definition on the sheet. If there is time, groups will share examples with the class.
