1.INCREASE FEES AND ROYALTIES CHARGED TO AGGREGATE OPERATORS/TOWN OF CALEDON

A copy of a resolution passed by the Town of Caledon on November 20, 2007. The resolution requests that the Province consider increasing the fees and royalties charged to aggregate operators and use this additional revenue exclusively for providing the MNR with resources to effectively staff an enforcement branch that help to ensure the long term viability of the aggregate industry.

Recommendation:THATCouncil support and endorse the resolution passed by the Town of Caledon on November 20, 2007 re the increase in fees to aggregate operators.

2.WIFI INTERNET SERVICE/NVISIBLE LINKSONTARIO INC

A copy of a letter from Nvisible Links regarding the possible offering of WiFI service in Wiarton. The company would like to mount radios on the light standards located on Berford street.

Recommendation:THATthe item be referred to the Committee of the Whole.

3.SECOND STAGE HOUSING STEERING COMMITTEE

A copy of the minutes from the Second Stage Housing Steering Committee meeting held on November 14, 2007.

Recommendation:THATCouncil note the contents.

4.ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

A copy of the minutes from the Economic Development Committee meeting held on November 15, 2007.

Recommendation:THATCouncil adopt the minutes from the Economic Development Committee meeting held on November 15, 2007.

5.REQUEST FOR FUNDING/ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION BRANCH 586

A letter from Hepworth Legion requesting financial support from the municipality to help with the cost of kitchen renovations.

Recommendation:THAT the request be referred to the 2008 budget deliberations.

6.POLICE SERVICES BOARD

A copy of the minutes from the Police Service Board meeting held on October 17, 2007

Recommendation:THAT Council note the contents.

7.REQUEST FOR SPONSORSHIP/INTERNATIONAL PLOWING MATCH 2008

A copy a letter from the Co-Chair, Partnership Committee for the International Plowing Match 2008. The letter is requesting financial assistance or in-kind donation of services in support of the 2008 match.

Recommendation:THATthe request be referred to the 2008 budget deliberations.

8.ONTARIO SMALL WATERWORKS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM/MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE, FOOD AND RURAL AFFAIRS

A copy of a letter from Leona Cunningham, Project Analyst Rural Community Development Branch. The letter informs that the municipality does not meet the OSWAP eligibility criteria.

Recommendation:THATCouncil note the contents.

9.BUILDING STATISTICS NOVEMBER 2007

A copy of the building statistics for the month of November 2007.

Recommendation:THAT Council note the contents.

10.MINISTER OF MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS.

A copy of an introductory letter from the newly appointed Minister of Municipal Affairs.

Recommendation:THATCouncil note the contents.

11.2007 ACTIVITIES UPDATE/MUNICIPAL PROPERTY ASSESSMENT CORPORATIONS

A letter from MPAC which provides an update on their activities to date for 2007, including their new Integrated Property System and an increase in property inspections.

Recommendation:THAT Council note the contents.

12.REVIEW OF WARD SYSTEM/MILLER

A letter from Larry and Darlene Miller applauding the municipality’sinitiative to review the present “ward” system. The letter brings forth suggestions that the number of Councillors be reduced to at least five (or 3) and that they add a Deputy Mayor position.

Recommendation:THAT the letter be forwarded to the Governance Review Committee once it is has been established.

13.FIRE COMMITTEE

A copy of the minutes from the Fire Committee meeting held on October 30, 2007.

Recommendation:THATCouncil adopt the Fire Committee minutes from October 30, 2007 as received.

14.QUESTIONS RE WASTE DIVERSION/AMABEL PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION

An email from the president of the Amabel Property Association requesting a response to their earlier correspondence which had been directed to the Waste Management and Recycling Committee. The email also requests for the minutes of these committees to be posted on the website for public review.

Recommendation:THAT the letter be forwarded to the Waste Management and Recycling Committee for response.
