Tanya discussed the recent acquisition of the AT&T DirecTV call center in Tulsa, OK. The local has been busy organizing and signing these members as Oklahoma is a Right-to-Work state and there were issues with misinformation before our Local stepped in. Tanya recommends, for now, that the local simply accept all who sign until we are acclimated into the location and area.

Motion Nancy Williams, 2nd Rita Byard to accept the names both read and un-read but listed. MP

Legislative Nancy attended the Missouri AFL-CIO meeting in January and there were lots of issues and opposition discussed about the Trump nomination. There will be lots of work done to counteract the RTW legislation that is certain to be presented. The General Obligation Bond that will be on the ballot in April will be used to fund new ADA compliant streets and sidewalks, the AFL-CIO is asking members to vote yes on this bond. The United Way will be providing free tax preparation services to those who make less than 64K a year and is also offering cancer insurance. Lastly, on a different subject, spokesman for AT&T showed up to the meeting to encourage union members to use AT&T services.

Election Cheryl Leverette traveled to Tulsa in December for four days to run a vote for the tentative agreement reached between CWA District 6 and AT&T SW. Bargaining was done nationally to get these employees under the existing CWA/AT&T Mobility labor agreements. The vote on the tentative agreement was due in by December 29th, 2016. It was a small election to ratify the agreement and our local voted overwhelmingly in favor of ratifying the agreement.

Communications Tanya read aloud communications.

Unfinished Business

Grievance Report Sheryl Janeski read an up to date grievance report covering the grievances filed since our last membership meeting.

New Business

Bargaining Update Just found out today that CWA is entering into early bargaining with AT&T Core starting on February 1st. The elected bargaining team is being sent to Texas to start on Monday. CWA is hoping to have a tentative agreement reached before the end of February. We are pushing for a four year agreement, but even that is up for negotiation.

There was more discussion about negotiations, mobilization and bargaining in other districts.

There was also discussion about office issues in the Credit and Collections department centered around the new availability calculations. Many are not meeting the new requirements. Sheryl Janeski is keeping an eye on this situation.

Good & Welfare None.
