1. Lisa went through the paperwork that was in the Provider’s files for this month.

- “PlanningOur Day” sheets – to be used on a daily basis, as documented proof of your planning. If you are documenting in another fashion, check with your Consultant or the Office, to see if you need the planning sheets. Keep these planning sheets where parents can see them. As if the parents have any input into the programming. Note these ideas on the back of the sheets. If you wish, you can bring a completed month’s worth of planning sheets to the next meeting, and trade with another provider. Great way to get more ideas. If you are going to share – please ensure that there is no confidential information on the sheets

- Stick Kids Motion Cards – ideas to keep the children active

- Charade Cards – active games to play with the children

- Laminated Diversity and Multicultural pictures – additional photos to post within your home

2. Copies of the children’s Immunization forms were in the files for the Providers. They must be kept with the

children’s Enrollment Form and General Agreements in the homes. If you do not have copies for all children in care, let the office know.

3. When using a website, books, magazine, etc. for ideas for programming, meals/snacks, art projects, etc.,

please reference the source used. Eg: Pinterest, Facebook, name of the book with Author. Use a Board on

Pinterest for all the ideas you use for your Day Home…make it accessible to other Providers.

4. Tina brought in a box of laminated pictures for Providers to make use of for multiculturalism and

programming. Thanks, Tina!

5. Lisa went through a few of the points in Standard 2 and gave some examples of how to fulfill that point.

One of the points was 2.2 i – ensure television and computer use is limited (Agency policy = 30 min.Maximum) One Provider says she has the tv on a multicultural music program only. Great idea

6. There were Nipissing Developmental Checklists in the files – one for each child. Providers were asked to fill

them in sometime in the next month and then turn them in with September paperwork. Any new children will have them done during their Enrollment.

7. Don’t forget to offer dress up clothes and items for children. A hat, a pair of gloves, an apron…there are

many things that can be used to fuel their imagination…think outside the box…..or use the box for a ship!

8. Tammy shared a toddler daily report she has developed for parents. Wonderful !! Thanks

9. New laminated “Emergency Procedure” cards were handed out. Please post these cards and destroy the yellow one you had.

10. Everyone was emailed a Standard 1-2 checklist, with examples of how to meet the standard. A space is provided for you to indicate how you are meeting the standard. Please complete (if you haven’t already done so) and turn in to the office. We will now be using this checklist as one of our monthly home checks. That way we will always be accreditation ready.

11. A great idea shared by a few providers is that we take one Standard and discuss it during every in-service.

We would also like to put together a slide show that would showcase your wonderful day homes. You could take your own pictures and email them to the office, or call and Lisa will come out and take the pictures.

Another idea was to take one evening and tour some of the homes.

It was suggested that providers share their programming ideas: Pinterest boards, create a private fb page, bring ideas to meetings.

In addition, the Agency will bring a box of resources from the office – to each meeting. These resources may be books, theme boxes, learning resources … etc. We have a wealth of items at the office, and would love for them to be utilized more.

Thank you for your contributions to this meeting.

Keep your suggestions coming. You are a great bunch of providers !!!!
