MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE GRYGLA CITY COUNCIL

SEPTEMBER 12, 2005

The regular meeting of the City Council was scheduled to be held at Grygla Civic Building at 8:00pm. The meeting was called to order, at 8:00 p.m. by Mayor Klein with the following council members present: Hazel Thomas, Patti Johnson, Robert Thompson, and David Dunrud. Absent: None. Also present were Carter Torgerson & Rose Aune.

MINUTES OF PRECEEDING MEETING

Motion made by Dunrud, seconded by Johnson, to approve the minutes of the City Council Regular meeting of August 8, 2005. Motion unanimously carried.

MONTHLY BILLS

Thompson made a motion and Johnson seconded, to approve payment of all bills, carried unanimously.

WENDY SANDSMARK’S SALON

Thompson made a motion, seconded by Dunrud to offer Wendy half of lot 21 and all of lots 19 & 20 for $2,500 or just lots 19 & 20 for $1,600, carried unanimously.

ANNEXATION

Klein is still waiting for meeting with Brian Rokke.

GAZEBO

Johnson is still looking for designs. The cost of the one in Menahga she liked ended up costing $30,000.

EXPERIENCE WORKS

Klein made a motion, seconded by Johnson, to hire Melvin Hagen for 3 months for 2 hrs a day, so we would be able to keep George Wikert working for the City through Experience Works, starting 10-1-05 thru 12-31-05, carried unanimously. Their program is going to be cut unless they can prove that the people that have worked thru them are being placed in real jobs.

CITY JACKETS

Johnson made a motion, seconded by Thompson for Carter & Rose to purchase a jacket with a City Logo on it up to $100 each, carried unanimously.

VOTING MACHINES

Rose went to a meeting in Warren about the voting machines and the City is not going to be able to get the machines for free anymore. They didn’t give a definite cost for them, but it looks like about $5,000 for the 2 machines, 1 for handicap and 1 for counting. Rose is to check with Scott Peters to see what the cost of the voting machines and what is the cost if we don’t have a machine and the county has all the machines.

SOFTBALL FIELDS

The Jaycees approved to pay $1,000 toward the softball field expense and we need to send a bill to the Lion’s for the remainder of the bill.

CHAIRS

Thompson made a motion, seconded by Klein, to order some chairs from Viking Office Supply for $98 each for the meeting room, carried unanimously.

CITY LANDFILL

Carter is going to put a gate up at the landfill so people can’t just go out there and dump what ever they want. If they want to dump something they can contact Carter and he will let them in there if it is acceptable items.

Motion made by Dunrud, seconded by Klein, to adjourn, carried unanimously.
