· Half load signs are still up, but will be coming down shortly as weather permits

· Brushing along Callaghan Rd.
· Working to mitigate spring water issues and removal of beaver dams
· Replacing downed signs across the Township
· Installation of playground equipment at the ball fields
· Plow mounts are off
· The Thrasher Road project has restarted – primarily landscaping and driveway work prior to application of surface treatment

· Mandi briefed Council on the current registration numbers thus far for Spring/Summer Programs

§ 12 Beach Volleyball teams
§ 16 Adult Mixed 3-pitch teams
· We are still in need of volunteer coaches and sponsors for all sports
· Trash Bash was held Saturday, April 25, 2015
· We had over 350 participate and filled 2 dumpsters plus lots of recyclables
· Jim and Dave are working hard getting the grounds ready for Spring Programs
· Spring Program startup-up dates
§ Tuesday, Wednesday May 19/20 – Youth Soccer 6:30pm
§ Sunday, May 24 – Adults Mixed 3-Pitch 1-7pm
§ Monday, May 27 –T-Ball (pre-rookie) Baseball 6:30pm
§ Thursday, June 4 – Beach Volleyball 6:00pm
· Bocce Ball tournament is Saturday June 6 sponsored by the Baseball Committee to help raise funds for an electronic scoreboard – contact Mandi or Adam if interested in putting in a team
· New playground equipment is now installed at the main ball field, primarily for smaller children who are with their parents at games
Mike Boyd – Fire Chief
Provided written report – Chief was attending the annual OAFC Chiefs meeting in Toronto
Highlights
· There have been two (2) calls for assistance in the last reporting period
· Council may notice signs around the Township about yielding for a flashing green light, volunteer fire fighter response.
· The highway traffic act gives volunteer firefighters an opportunity to use a flashing green light while responding to emergencies
· This light is a courtesy light only and the responding firefighter will observe the rules of the road.
· Junior Firefighter graduation is Saturday May 30th 2015. Council is invited to attend.
· The graduation ceremony will begin at 12:00 pm

THAT this Council approves, in principle the request from Peter Walsh to purchase the Road Allowance that crosses his property on Concession 4, Pt Lot 17. Be it further moved that the CAO is asked to circulate the County and abutting neighbours for comment prior to giving full approval. Be it finally moved that any conveyance will be at no cost to the Municipality

THAT this Council receives the quotation (2014-12-30) from Canadian Pacific Railway in the amount of $286.832 to install gates and signaling at the Weese Rd crossing at mile 81.17 Belleville Subdivision. Be it further moved that Council fully supports an application going forward from CP under the Grade Crossing Improvement Program whereby the cost would be attributed 50% to Transport Canada, 25% to the Township and 25% to Canadian Pacific. Be it further moved that Council appreciated that the regional arm of Transport Canada will be supporting this application to the Minister for approval. Be it finally moved that in order to move forward Council will commit to 50% of the costs in the eventuality that approval from Transport Canada is not forthcoming.

THAT this Council receives the verbal report from Deputy Reeve Adam Hannafin and CAO Steve Mercer on their recent attendance at the LAS/AMO Town Hall workshop held April 28 in Smiths Falls, an event directed at group purchasing and savings in the energy sector.

That Council approves a severance for DeSnoo, Arthur & Diana (B16/15 & B17/15), Concession 4, Part Lot 36 with the following conditions applied:
1. Payment in Lieu of Parkland fee of $750.00 per new lot created (made payable to the Township of Tyendinaga)
2. The applicant has supplied the Municipality with an affidavit stating there is a minimum of three and one-half (3 ½) gallons per minute of potable water available on the severed lot (Well Records and satisfactory Bacteriological Tests).
3. That the severed lot be rezoned to Rural Residential
4. That upon consultation with Quinte Conservation that there be an Environmentally Protected Zone added to a portion of the subject lands
5. Prior to the endorsing of deeds for the severed lot, proof be lodged with the Land Division Office from the Township of Tyendinaga that an entrance can be established on the severed lot to the satisfaction of the Township Road Supervisor.

· Community Care for South Hastings held a volunteer appreciation lunch that was well received and attended by approximately 80 people

THAT this Council recognizing a $42,436 Firefighters Wage Pool for 2014, elects to increase the pool by 10% to $46,679.60.

THAT this Council approves a 3 year arrangement with all staff whereby a 2% increase is applied to ALL positions in the organization for 2015, 2016 and 2017. Be it further moved that the CAO brings to Council on May 19 a Wage By-law that speaks to this direction. Be it finally moved that new students will be paid minimum wage and that the 2% be applied to the $46,679.60 Firefighters Wage Pool
