09OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN AYLSHAM

As part of the discussions on Cittàslow Aylsham it was noted that part of the ethos of Cittàslow is to bring together the various organisations working in the town. To assist with this a guest organisation will be invited to update members each month. Arrangements for this meeting were not made so this will start in October.

The Town Clerk will also produce a list of potential guest organisations for discussion by the committee.

10CITTASLOW AYLSHAM

A meeting of the task and finish group set up to discuss how to move Cittàslow Aylsham forward had taken place. From this a SWOT analysis had been undertaken and was circulated with the agenda. This had also led to the preparation of mission statements and a re-vamped leaflet. These were discussed and alterations suggested. These will be incorporated into the documents. It was also noted that Cittàslow does not appear on the Aylsham app.

11FARMERS MARKET

The last two cookery demos on the Farmers Market were well received and have now been completed for this year.

March 2017 sees the 15th anniversary of the Farmers Market. It is hoped to commemorate this in some way and suggestions are welcome. One option is to invite the original stall holders for a one-off market with associated publicity.

Slow Food Aylsham report for Cittaslow Aylsham meeting 15/9/16

Our presence at the Aylsham Show was very successful with up to 150 people taking part in the Taste Adventure event.

Plans for Aylsham Food Festival are well advanced. There are still tickets available at Barnwells Newsagents and Carousel Chocolates for the Gala Dinner on Friday 30 September and Big Slow Brunch on Sunday 2 October.

Saturday’s Farmers Market will be augmented by six extra stalls: Woodfordes, Norfolk Food & Drink, Candi’s Chutney, Paul Williams (wood turner), Love the Fudge Company and J B Postle.
