MINUTES of the MEETING of SILKSTONE PLAYING FIELDS COMMITTEE held on Monday
25 January 16 at 7pm.

PRESENT: Chairman: R Leech (Silkstone PC)

T Hughes (Hoyland under 15’s), R Stier (Silkstone PC) and J Whitmore (SUCC).

15-58 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST – None

15-59 MINUTES


RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the meeting on 14 December 15 as a true and accurate record, the Chairman signed the minutes.
RESOLVED that the Grounds man’s invoices for the work to the damages areas on the junior football field and the area in front of the Pavilion will be re-charged to the responsible user groups.

RESOLVED to note that the next Harriers race is their anniversary race on 27 February 16 which will finish at 2pm. It was agreed that the Clerk will speak with the organisers to ask that they contact Cllr Stier to discuss the route to avoid the cricket field.

15-60 RECREATION GROUND & GROUNDSMAN


RESOLVED to note that the drainage works are currently out to tender.

RESOLVED to note that there has been some damage to the grassed area next to the community centre. The Clerk will check with the community rooms manager to see if he knows which group caused the damage.

15-61 PAVILION

RESOLVED to note that the handyman has repaired the brackets to the football benches in changing room 1 again.

15-62 PAVILION /RECREATION GROUND BOOKINGS/HIRE

No further bookings.

15-63 ACCOUNTS


RESOLVED to note the receipts and payments schedules and budget monitor up to 4 January 16.

15-64 CORRESPONDENCE

Nothing further.

15-65 ANY OTHER PAVILION OR PLAYING FIELDS BUSINESS

RESOLVED that J. Whitmore will liaise with the handyman regarding locking up of the cricket covers and that the cricket club will cut back the trees in cow corner when the nets go back up.

RESOLVED to note that the cricket club are arranging for the replacement of one of their containers.

RESOLVED that the handyman will be asked to add some screws to the football goal post cross bar for easier fitting of the net.

RESOLVED that Harriers will be reminded that NO DOGS are permitted in the Pavilion building.

RESOLVED that the farmer of the field adjacent to the cricket field has given permission for a gate to be installed in the fence. The handyman will progress this before the start of the cricket season.
