  • Programs (Joan Sasine):
  • The next Brown Bag will be June 6, 2008 and will be held at POGO office in Atlanta. The topic is “Erosion and Sedimentation Issues” and the speaker will be Bert Langley – Program Manager of the EPD Cartersville Office.

  • Young Professionals (Benjamin Sessions):
  • Ben reported: Group reviewed the draft YP Committee Plan drafted by Ben, and the group was supportive of the purpose and goals of the new committee.
  • 2008 Fall Conference – (Russ Griebel, Ron Methier, Ben Sessions, Susan Jenkins)
  • No applications for Awards have been received . Russ will send out request again in the very near future.
  • Joan will moderate morning session – Joan was not present to report on potential speakers for AM session. Ben volunteered to moderate the PM-Air Session and Susan volunteered to moderate the PM-Waste/Water Session. The following table illustrates actual/potential speakers for consideration:

  • Ron asked audience of nominations for Vice Chair for 2009?
  • Mel presented on the association at the May 7, 2008 AIPG conference.
  • New Business –
  • Leadership Training Reimbursement for Benjamin: Ben notified the group that his employer – Trinity Consultants paid for his expenses.
  • ACE Reimbursement for Russ: Russ will be attending the AWMA Annual Conference this year on behalf of his employer and the Georgia Chapter. Russ brought to the floor a new topic: Will Board support some of his expenses?
  • Motion to pay up to 100% of expenses (rental car, transportation, food, registration, hotel)based on the following:
  • General fund availability;
  • location;
  • Type of event
  • Topic to be further discussed at June 6th meeting.
  • Brandi J. Jenkins, EPA Region 4 (Air Division), job posting – Susan is obtaining further information on this for the Chapter. What needs to be stated for the minutes?
  • Term of Board Members: The Chapter is in need of nominations for Chapter’s Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Two Directors. Board should consider sending out nomination forms in early summer and keep sending them to membership on a monthly basis.
