7.2.5 / Interclub Fun Day – Johan Terblanche
In order for this to be a successful event, a minimum of seven clubs and seven obstacles are required. Currently only two Clubs have registered. DdV requested that all Clubs enter their club and team leader by Friday, 20 July.
DdV asked how the R120/vehcile entry fee will be utilised – R70 will be allocated to the AAWDC and R50 will be allocated to organisation, infrastructure, prizes etc.
PC enquired about the scoring system. JT advised that they have a pin pad scoring system which prints two slips on completion of each obstacle – one slip will be kept by the team and the other by the administrator for the team. All scores will be downloaded from the pin pad to the pc to calculate a final score.
RH said that they are still looking for prizes and sponsorship. TB advised that LA Sport would be able to assist with prizes and GD said that Nissan would also offer their assistance.
RH requested that we all spread the word about the Fun Day so as to encourage people outside of the AAWDC fold to attend as spectators. In so doing we can assist in promoting the AAWDC as well.

8.2.1 / Newsletter:
TB and AG advised that if sufficient information is not available for the Newsletter, we should consider not having to be “obliged” to produce a monthly edition but rather look at a bi-monthly or quarterly Newsletter.
Membership for “Virtual Clubs”:
The AAWDC is receiving more enquiries from “virtual clubs” about becoming members of the AAWDC. Currently these “clubs” cannot be accepted as Member Clubs because they do not comply with the AAWDC’s constitution of a club i.e. they do not regulate their members, they do not keep details on their members (name, vehicle etc) and usually do not charge a joining fee.
DdV asked all to consider how we can / if we can incorporate these clubs into the AAWDC – this may require changes to the AAWDC Constitution.
PC received the Bridgestone Newsletter and noticed that the AAWDC logo is not included in the magazine. AG will approach Bridgestone to get the logo included. / All
