MINUTES OF THE 13th AUF GENERAL ASSEMBLY

  1. Opening of the meeting

Opened at20:10pm and chaired by President Mr. Zhang Qing. He welcomed members attended and expressed his thanks to KUA for organizing the championships and this meeting.

2. Apologies and Proxies, Guests

  1. General Secretary’s Intervention

Mr. Byungdoo LEE reported :

  1. Keep contacted OCA for fin swimming, as a result, fin swimming is involved in the 2005 Asian Indoor Games which is being organized by OCA in Bangkok.. .
  2. Organized CMAS International Judge course during the 2003 world Junior fin swimmingchampionships..
  3. Attended the 2002 Asian Open water competition in Indonesia.
  4. Organizing 2003 World junior fin swimming championships and Asia Fin swimming championships.
  5. Started CMAS diver cards sale business to AUF members which makes good money for AUF.

7. AUF Budget report

Accepted unanimously(See Appendix #1).

  1. Intervention of the representatives of the each member nation

. Japan(JUSF) : Mr.Shunji Yoshizawareported :

- Organized underwater hockey competition and 10 clubs were participated.

- Participated long distance competition in Poland and Italy. Participating 2003 Egypt long distance championships.

- Organized 2002 Cup of Mr. Yoshio Kobayashi, former president of AUF, for 50m Apnea as a start. Mrs. Kobayashi were attended and awarded the Cup.

- Participated 2002 Asia Masters fin swimming competitions in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia with 40 members.

Korea (KUA): Mr. Byungdoo LEE reported :

KUA is organizing many national events every year :

- 5 times of national finswimming competition in swimming pool.

- 3 times of 3km finswimming competition in lake or ocean, one of them is international.

- 4 times of ITC and 3 times of Cross Over Course, training about 70instructors in total per year.

- One time of the Dive Trade Show.

- Scuba diving games in swimming pool every year which including target shooting, rope Pulling, buddy breathing for recreational divers.

- Attended 2002 Asian Open water fin swimming championships in Indonesia.

- Prepared and organizing world junior fin swimming championships and Asia Fin swimming championships in Jeju, 2003.

Singapore(SUF) : Mr. Benny YEO reported :

- Congratulated to KUA for their success of organizing the championships.

- Training national team for the 2003 SEA Games.

China (CUA) : Mr. OU Kang Ping reported that :

-There are 6 provincial fin swimming teams and one fin swimming club in China.

-Organizing 3 national fin swimming competitions per year.

-Participating the National games for non-Olympic disciplines in every 4 year.

-They get 13 gold, 8 silver, 4 gold medals in 2002 world championships.

-5 new world fin swimming records were made by Chinese.

-Invited Tomsk fin club to Guangdong.

-Developed new fins in Chinese way.

-Dispatched Chinese coaches to Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia and Russia.

Vietnam (VASA) : Mr. Tran Long reported (See appendix #3)

Indonesia(ISSA) : Mr. Soebagio reported (See appendix #4)

Hong Kong(HKUA) : Mr. Simon LAU reported that :

-Very slow in CMAS diving business, only 2 active instructors. Hope to have more instructors.

-There are 2 Hockey clubs and one free diving club.

-Fin swimming is slow also.

-

9. Proposals

Zhang Qing proposed to keep contact OCA to include fin swimming in next Asian Games. It was accepted.

10. Election of the President, two vice president, General Secretary and 6 EB Members

Elected following members :

President : Zhang Qing(China)

Vice president : Takeo Nomura(Japan), Hoang Vinh Giang(Vietnam)

Genral Secretary : LEE Byungdoo(Korea)

EB Members : Shunji Yoshizawa (Japan), Su Ke (China), LEE Min Hyung (Korea), Djoko Pramono (Indonesia), Mrs. Helen LANE (Australia)

  1. AUF Future programs

Next Asia Fin Swimming Championships schedules : 2005 Japan, 2007 Indonesia, 2009 HongKong.

  1. Miscellaneous

- General secretary ask to members to buy CMAS diver cards form the AUF if possible.

- General secretary proposed to modify term of EB members as 4 years. He will make proposals for next meeting.

  1. Date and Venue of the next meetings

- Decided to have next meeting in 2005, in Japan during the next Asia fin swimming championships. The details will be fixed later by Japan federation.

- Decided to have next EB meeting in Shanghai during the 2004 world finswimming championships.
