Minutes of the 40th Meeting of the Advanced Studies & Research Board, University of Malakand
The 40th meeting of the Advanced Studies & Research Board was held on March 29, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. in the Committee Room. The following attended the meeting:

The meeting started with recitation of verses from the Holy Qura’n by Dr. Syed M. Jamal. All the members were warmly welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor. The following agenda items were taken up for consideration:
ITEM NO 01 APPROVAL OF RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MR. MUHAMMAD SOHAIL ABBAS, MPHIL LEADING TO PHD SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
The Board approved the research topic and research synopsis with minor changes. A corrected copy of the synopsis duly endorsed by the supervisor concerned must be submitted to the office of DDA for record / reference only.
ITEM NO 02 APPROVAL OF COURSE WORK, RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MR. ZAHID KHAN, M.PHIL SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
The Board approved the course work of the scholar.
The Board approved the research topic and research synopsis with minor changes in references and plan of work. A corrected copy of the synopsis duly endorsed by Prof. Dr. Rashid Ahmad, Department of Chemistry must be submitted to the office of DDA for record / reference only.
ITEM NO 03 APPROVAL OF COURSE WORK, RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MR. TUFAIL AHMAD, M.PHIL SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
The Board approved the course work of the scholar.
The Board also approved the research topic and research synopsis.
ITEM NO 04 APPROVAL OF COURSE WORK, RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MR. HAIDAR ALI, M.PHIL SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
The Board approved the course work of the scholar.
The Board approved the revised research topic as: SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND ANTIOXIDANT EVALUATION OF DIFFERENT SCHIFF BASES DERIVED FROM NEW DIKETONES.
The research synopsis was also approved with minor changes in aims and objectives. A corrected copy of the synopsis duly endorsed by Dr. Muhammad Shoaib, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy must be submitted to the office of DDA for record / reference only.
ITEM NO 05 APPROVAL OF COURSE WORK, RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MS. NASIHAT, M.PHIL SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
The Board approved the course work of the scholar.
The Board approved the revised research topic as: ISOLATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF DITERPENOID ALKALOIDS FROM SEEDS OF ACONITUM LEAVE ROYLE.

The Board approved the course work of the scholar.

ITEM NO 08 RESUBMISSION OF RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MR. IRFAN ULLAH, M.PHIL SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS
The Board approved the research topic and research synopsis of the scholar.
ITEM NO 09 APPROVAL OF COURSE WORK, RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MR. AMIN UR RAHMAN, M.S SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE &IT
The Board approved the course work of the scholar subject to the condition that the details must be rectified from Dr. Muhammad Shoaib, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy and a certificate to the effect along with corrected copy of course work must be submitted by the concerned Chairman to the office of DDA for record / reference.
The Board also approved the research topic and research synopsis of the scholar.
ITEM NO 10 APPROVAL OF COURSE WORK RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MR. IMRAN KHAN, M.S SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE &IT
The Board approved the course work of the scholar subject to the condition that the details must be rectified from Dr. Muhammad Shoaib, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy and a certificate to the effect along with corrected copy of course work must be submitted by the concerned Chairman to the office of DDA for record / reference.

ITEM NO 11 APPROVAL OF RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MS. SADIA AHMAD, M.PHIL SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY
The Board approved the revised research topic as: INVESTIGATION OF FUNCTIONAL POLYMORPHISM IN microRNA GENES AND THEIR ASSOCIATION WITH BREAST CANCER RISK
The Board also approved the research synopsis of the scholar.
ITEM NO 12 APPROVAL OF RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MR. MUSHTAQ AHMAD, PHD SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY
The Board approved the revised research topic as: GENETIC POLYMORPHISM OF microRNAs AND BRCA GENES IN BREAST CANCER.
The Board also approved the research synopsis of the scholar with minor changes in the format of references. A corrected copy of the synopsis duly endorsed by Dr. Syed M. Jamal, Chairman, Department of Biotechnology must be submitted to the office of DDA for record / reference only.
ITEM NO 13 APPROVAL OF RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MR. FARMAN ULLAH, PHD SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY
The Board approved the research topic and research synopsis of the scholar.

The Board approved the research topic and research synopsis with minor changes.
ITEM NO 16 APPROVAL OF RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MR. MUHAMMAD IMRAN, M.PHIL SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY
The Board approved the revised research topic as: DETERMINATION OF CAROTENOIDS AND PHENOLIC PROFILE OF OXALIS CORNICULATA.
The Board also approved the research synopsis of the scholar.
ITEM NO 17 APPROVAL OF COURSE WORK, RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MR. AMJAD ALI, PHD SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS
The Board approved the course work of the scholar subject to correction in registration number.

The Board approved the course work of the scholar.

The Board approved the revised research topic as: MEDIATING EFFECT OF ORGANIZATIONAL JUSTICE BETWEEN THE RELATIONSHIP OF JOB SATISFACTION AND ORGANIZATIONAL CITIZENSHIP BEHAVIOR IN BANKING SECTOR.

ITEM NO 26 APPROVAL OF RESEARCH TOPIC AND RESEARCH SYNOPSIS OF MS. ZUHRA MUSA, M.PHIL SCHOLAR, DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE &IT
The Board did not consider the case of the scholar on the ground that her study period has expired under section 27 of Bye-Laws 2009 and onwards. The decision of the Board was in line with its decision on Item No 19 in its 39th meeting held on March 28, 2017.
