Ms S Tarling, President, welcomed the delegates and guests to the Annual General Meeting and thanked everyone for an exceptional attendance and support given to the Annual Training Conference.

8.0 Reports
8.1 Presidents Report – Ms Samantha Tarling
Ø Ms Tarling advised that the Presidents report is included in the WARA Annual Report inside the presentation pack given to Conference attendees.
Ø Ms Tarling advised that this would be her last year as the President but that she is willing to stay on the Committee to be involved in other projects.
8.2 Treasurers Report
Ø Ms Tarling advised that the report was included in the WARA Annual Report, inside the presentation pack that had been distributed to Conference attendees.
Ø The cheque account had an opening balance of $30,808.18 on 1 July 2007and a closing balance of $10,294.91 on 30 June 2008.
Ø The High Interest Account opened on 5 March 2008 with an opening balance of $35,000.00 had a closing balance of $28,251.29 on 5 July 2008, earning $591.71 in interest.
Ø The books were audited and approved by Ms Karen Balm.

Ms Tarling thanked the members for their support and congratulated the 2008/09 Committee Members for their acceptance of nominations.
9.2 Mr Murray Halden raised a discussion regarding a Concept Plan for future annual conferences of the Association. The issue discussed was a 'bid' type process for Conference Hosting and Planning. Instead of holding the conference in Perth or Mandurah every year, hold it around the State and a town bids for the Conference, adopting the same principle as capital cities bidding for the Olympics. Council's across WA would submit a 15 minute powerpoint presentation 'bid' to host the Conference at the conference the year before.
A vote was taken and the majority was in favour. It was endorsed that the Committee investigate the creation of a Bidding for the Annual Conference Concept Plan

The next meeting AGM will be held at the WARA Conference in 2009.
