I. Call to order:

a. Chairperson Dawn Pindell called the meeting to order at 7:04 PM

b. Recording device was unavailable to obtain audio transcript.

II. Roll call:

a. Members present: Dawn Pindell, John Baldwin,Lee Wrigley, Christina Fensely.

b. Chairperson acknowledged that a quorum was present in order to conduct this regularly scheduled meeting, and that the agenda had been posted as required.

III. Review of minutes from previous meeting:

a.Minutes of the previous meeting (March 26, 2015) were reviewed and discussed. Motion by Lee, seconded by Christina,to accept previous minutes as recorded and place on file. All in favor, motion passed.

IV. Opportunity for Public Comment:

a. None.

V. Old Business:

a. BROCHURES: New “Canterbury Grown” brochures have been proof-read, edited as necessary, and submittedto the printer for publication. Anticipate receipt in June.

b. COMMERCIAL KITCHEN: No update available from the Canterbury EDC.

VI. New Business:

a. WALKTOBER 2015: Discussed upcoming Fall walk, decided on Saturday, October 24th, 10 AM – Noon. Walk to focus on “learning to support local agriculture”, length to approximate 1 ½ hour hike, with ample parking available at chosen location. Deadline for submitting application is Friday, May 1st. Brainstormed about where to conduct this year. Potential locations proposed included farm lands at Burgis Brook, LaFramboise, LaBossiere, Tyler’s on RT. 169, Dean Davis and Maple Leaf. Members present volunteered to contact those various individuals based on prioritized list to identify who could host. Dawn needs confirmation by Monday, April 27th.

VII. Other Business

a. TOWN NEWSLETTER: Dawn discussed the article she submitted to the Spring edition of the Canterbury Newsletter on behalf of the Agriculture Commission. Newsletter will be published in early May.

b. LOCAL PRESENTATIONS: Idea proposed by Dawn regarding the Ag Comm organizing (hosting) group presentations for other local groups (ie, Canterbury Seniors, FAHS, Historical Society, EDC, for example) on agriculture related topics, such as healthy eating, buying local produce, supporting local farms, origins of specialty crops in this region, or informational resources for home-grown foods. Topic to be included on agenda for next meeting.

VIII. Next Meeting

a. Next official Canterbury Ag Commission meeting will be held May 28that 7 pm in the Community Center.

IX. Adjournment

a. Motion to adjourn by Christina, seconded by Lee, (unanimous.) Meeting adjourned at 7:50pm.
