Review of Previous AGM - 10th September 2013
Minutes were proposed as a true reflection of events by Kim Tait and seconded by Alison Thomson.
Chairpersons Remarks
Thanks to everyone for coming and for all the hard work from the committee and the continued support from the school. Lots of fundraising events had been organised over the past year.
Treasurers Remarks
At present there is £950 in the account.
Cheques have been received from Marykirk Raft Race for £335 and easyfundraising £22.00.
More fundraising is required this year.
Head Teachers Report
Mrs Thomson expressed thanks for all the support from the parents since she came into post. Staff are busy refreshing curriculum software for smartboard, updating the library and resources.
Lots of exciting activities coming up for the school - Jammin Andy came in to do a dance workshop with the children and staff. Author Stuart Reid came into speak to the big class. Mr Reid is coming back later in the month to do a book presentation for the whole school.
At the moment the school is actively working towards the Rights Respecting School Bronze award (Level 1).

Playground
Fiona Thomson informed all that Aberdeenshire Council has an Open Door Policy for school grounds so no one can't stop children playing in the playground outwith school hours.
Scotplay
Application form has been filled in and awaiting to go.
Minutes approved by Bev MacKinnon and seconded by Janet Thomson.
MacMillan Coffee morning
Heather Herd has asked the school if they would be willing to participate in this event. The school will take part, however it will take place from 2pm instead of the morning. It will be open to the whole community. Donations at the door. Home baking would be required from anyone willing to donate. Fiona Thomson will pass on any more information received to Heather Herd. / FT
Junior Highland Games
Sunday 14th September
MPCC are holding a stall to include lucky dip for boys & girls and a DVD trail.
Janet offered to make the DVD Trail approx 40 - 50 squares. Cost £1 a square. Sara and Kim to get prizes for the lucky dip, approx 50 gifts for each. Cost £2 a go. Helpers required on the day from 9am - 4pm; Volunteers - Kim, Heather, Carrie, Karen S, Bev, Karen W, Dayan and Daune. Kim to organise rota.
Children's races will be taking place roughly between 12noon - 2pm, more details to follow from Fiona Thomson for the children that have entered these. / KT

Family 80s Disco- Saturday 8th November 7pm - 11pm
Fancy Dress optional, bring your own food & drink. Family tickets £5.
Raffle and coin toss to be organised.
Heather to make posters. Kim to check if hall is free
Fiona to find name of man that did disco at her previous school.
Fashion Show
It was agreed more information / details needed Sara and Heather to discuss further and bring back to the committee.
Panto
Tickets have already been purchased, bus still has to be paid for.

Halloween Party
Friday 31st October 6.30pm - 8pm - Marykirk Hall
Tickets will not to be purchased in advance this year, £2 at the door instead
Tuck Shop still to be organised.
Games - corners, mummy wrapping (school maybe able provide toilet rolls). Prizes will be needed.
Pre school pupils to be invited along.
Parents available to help so far - Bev, Heather, Kim, Sara, Dayan, Carrie and Simon.
Christmas Coffee morning
Date agreed Saturday 29th November 10am - 12noon - Marykirk Hall
Stalls to be charged £15 per table plus a donation for the raffle. 13 tables in the hall but school would use approx 6 of these. It was agreed to try and get 6 stall holders just now; until we confirm how many tables we require ourselves.
School / MPCC stalls - Raffle, bottle stall, cake & candy, face painting, nail bar (P7's) and Marykirk Makers.
It was agreed to try and get Xmas Pudding again this year. Sara to look into this. Sara also to source costs for canvas bags & trolley tokens with School Logo on.
Donations for Home baking, bottle stall and raffle would be welcome and volunteers will be required to help on the day.
Setting up will be 2pm Friday 28th November. / SA
AOCB
Rag Bag
There is a big green bin in the schools car park for recycling clothes, shoes, etc. A list of acceptable items is on the bin. School gets money from this when its emptied.
School Clothes
It was suggested that school logo clothes may be recycled through the school as for a donation. It was agreed that this is a good idea and to trial it at MacMillan Coffee event.
After School Activities
Following the form that was sent home with pupils; details to follow for activities that are going to be organised shortly.
