MINUTES OF GEDNEY PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT GEDNEY VICTORY HALL ON TUESDAY 11th JUNE 2013.

1)88.13 Apologies for absence

Cllr Hutchison,Cllr Chapman& Cllr Wilkinson gave their apologies and council RESOLVED to accept them.

2)89.13 Declarations of Interest

Cllr Webb declared an interest in item 14 (H06-437-13) as he is a friend of the applicant.

3)90.13 Signing of the Minutes

Notes from the last meeting held on 14th May 2013 were taken as read & council RESOLVED to accept them as minutes.

4)91.13 Police Matters

Cllr Hallam reported there had been a rave held in GDE, the police were aware and present.

Cllr Webb reported the theft of a large 360 degree digger this week from Gedney.

Council wondered it PCSO F Bennett still covered the Gedney Parish, Clerk to find out.

Clerk reported that an email requesting a police representative at the June meeting had been sent .

6)93.13 Questions on District Councillor’s Report

No report or District Councillor at meeting.

7)94.13 Clerks Report

All correspondence from the May meeting has been dealt with.

Cllr Hallam and Cllr Tinkler attended a training day on Management of community facilities and Play areas.

The work on the War memorial at Gedney Dyke has now been completed and a request sent for the seat to be repositioned and is now back on site.

The clerk has contacted 3 companies for quotations on the hire of a mini bus for the Parish Inspection, unfortunately only one has replied.

Cllr Webb has kindly collected the notice board from Pelican trust in Lincoln and it is at present stored in his farm yard.

  1. Grant application from Christ Church Dawsmere.

A Grant for Dawsmere church yard maintenance was discussed, Accounts had been provided.

Cllr Webb proposed the grant be given, Cllr Hallam seconded and council RESOLVED on this item.

10)97.13 To discuss Play/open areas

  1. To adopt Risk Assessment for Walker Memorial park GDE. It was proposed by Cllr Hallam to adopt the risk assessment and seconded by Cllr Tinkler this was RESOLVED.

Following a discussion it was proposed for the clerk to:

  • Contact Fenland Leisure Products about the resent inspection report highlighting the use of the wrong shackle’s on the swings at installation.
  • To get a price on 1 and 2 replacement seats for the seesaw
  • To get a price on an internal inspection and service of the seesaw

This was seconded and RESOLVED.

It was bought to Councils attention that the Walker Memorial Park grass was in need of cutting – Clerk to deal. Also that moles were back in the Park and strimmer work was called for around the slide mound.

12)99.13 To Resolve on Position of Gedney Dyke Notice Board

Cllr Hallam proposed the board be placed on Council land adjacent to the War Memorial, this was seconded and RESOLVED. Cllr Hutchison, Webb and Tinkler to arrange a meeting on site to organise installation.

Objected: Council are concerned that this is no longer for agricultural use but for a warehouse for

a commercial operation.
