It was reported that the resident at Lapinsfield had been seen in Main Street at 10am in pyjamas and had been picked up in a car.

There is a blocked gully outside Stoneleigh.

There is water running in the entrance to the Recreation Trust.

119.DISTRICT COUNCILLORS REPORT

Mrs Roundell Greene told the Council that SSDC will be discussing their budget during the full council meeting on 26 February. Various different trials regarding recycling are taking place in the county. There has been a decline in the recycling of food waste which the SWP are trying to address. The new Somerset River Authority will be holding their first meeting next week, Mrs Roundell Greene is the deputy representative for SSDC. A meeting was held recently to discuss the provision of new primary schools at Lufton and WyndhamPark.

120.COUNTYCOUNCILLORS REPORT

Mr Crabb told the Council that the Scrutiny Committee had met the previous Friday and the Cabinet were meeting next week. A further £16m cuts have to be made. All Saturday bus subsidies have been cut as well as all non-statutory youth services. There will be no rise in Council Tax despite the increasing costs of elderly care and children’s services. The situation at Lapinsfield was discussed again and Mr Crabb will make further enquiries.

121.COMMUNITY SAFETY & POLICE MATTERS.

The Council discussed Mrs Mountstevens replies regarding obstruction on the pavement. It was agreed to wait to see if the matter was addressed informally as she indicated might be the case.

124.HIGHWAY MATTERS

a)Unclassified road – Clerk to contact Ramblers Association to see if they can assist.

b)Oakley Lane – Mr Crope reported that there are large potholes – Clerk to contact Somerset Highways and also report the blocked gully o/s Stoneleigh and the missed gullies in Kings Hill.

125.VILLAGE HALL

Mr Griffiths reported that all works regarding the store extension are now complete. The final cost was £19559.75. There is a meeting on Monday when Mr Griffiths will be handing over to the new Secretary and Treasurer.

126.RECREATION TRUST – Mr Hall reported that the water leak in the entrance to the Recreation Trust is to be investigated by Wessex Water during half term.
