Chaplain’s Report:

  • We’re all sons of God – act like it!
  • We’ve been asked by Christo Rei (sp?) school to help fund their retreat program for high school minority students, many of which will be the first in their family to graduate college. Currently, their budget will not allow for the senior class to have their required retreat.
  • Jesse helped get the school ready to open, and stayed on for a while. Testified to the quality of the kids attending this school that they want to go and change their way of life and prove education will get you ahead in life. The students are working at a company for a few hours a day, then attending the school afterwards, to help pay their way.
  • Motion passed to bring this before the Donations committee for $1,000
  • Moved by Jesse, seconded by Zach

Grand Knight’s Report:

  • Columbiettes
  • They are now fully incorporated, and are ready to work with us
  • Thanks to Father Robert for stepping up as their Chaplain
  • Their Taco Dinner made about $800 for the school
  • Coats for Kids
  • We can order cases of coats by the dozen, but each case is specific for boys or girls
  • If we order now, we still have time to donate in time for winter
  • Motion passed to donate one dozen for boys and one dozen for girls
  • Moved by Zach, seconded by Jesse
  • No meeting next week, due to the Christmas party. If something comes up that needs to be addressed, we can hold an Officer’s meeting the week prior to the party.
  • Christmas Party
  • This year it will be held at the school gymnasium, due to kids and the Columbiettes attending as well.
  • Elvis will be making an appearance (might be old but still puts on a good show!)
  • Traditional Christmas meal this year, not Cascone’s
  • $20/person and $5/child – pay at the door

  • St. Michael’s veteran lunches have been a huge success thanks to all of Jesse’s hard work organizing this event. Due to health issues, Tony and Bill have spearheaded this moving forward
  • They now have a new wing completed, and they’re about to double their number of residents (up from ~40 vets to ~80 vets)
  • After discussion, we’ll be falling back to one meal per quarter, rather than per month. That’ll let us do a larger event every quarter, like Bill’s shrimp boil, and will let Bill continue spearheading this event
