Ditches
Make a list of priority areas for Maintenance

  1. Smallfield Rd – Graham Pooley and Patrick Fitchett
  2. Church Road/Lane – Diane Fellows
  3. Broadbridge lane (Leylands-Redehall Rd) Liz Cutter – Environment agency (Main River)
  4. Effingham Lane – Sue Harper
  5. East Hill Lane (Jane House) – Sure Harper

The above have been prioritised and allocated to a community member to record all resident addresses in the area, so that we can write to them and advise them of the issues

Ditches being filled in
Ditches not cleared
Riparian ownership not understood
Blocked Culvert
etc.

We need to make these owners aware of their responsibility and that we are going to try and work with them to maintain the ditches either by clearing the ditch ourselves or working with a local contractor, yet to be found.

Culvert
East end of Smallfield Road - Try to clear the ditch and see if this resolves the issue.

MAM Meeting

We had a number of actions that were to be responded to in a set time

Highways England – Not responded in time allocated
Surrey County Council – Responded just out of time, but not with the correct information
The next MAM (Multi-Agency Meeting) is being held in June 2018
Agencies that have confirmed attendance

Tandridge District Council
Reigate and Banstead – Trying to attend
Highways England – Have not responded

We will continue to work our way through the Flood Action Plan, with the first question being
When are you going to upgrade the pumping stations in the village?

Community Communications
Graham to create a poster that we can put up around the village to advertise the Flood action group.
We have a section in the monthly Parish Magazine
We will continue to advertise on Facebook to raise awareness

AOB
John Connor brought to our attention that the Environment Agency (IJWS Clearing) were carrying out major work using a Sidewinder on the Surface Water Drains at the junction of Orchard Rd and Plough Rd on Monday 23rd April.

Katia announced that Surrey County Council had cut the funds to The National Flood Forum and from a date in May not yet set she would no longer be able to help us, but would provide us with an information pack that we can use to help us.
We wondered if we were prepared to make a donation to The National Flood Forum, would they still be able to help us. Katia did not know if this would be possible, but would ask. AB to raise at Parish Council meeting for donation if applicable.
