1. Team Mead (rep by Siyu)

Night at the Mead on Feb 17th
Celebrate opening of 3 new exhibitions, first time they have had 3 concurrent Asian exhibitions
Need money for crafts and activities tables
Doing origami, lucky fortune stars, paper lanterns
Also want to do scavenger hunt and activity pamphlets
200 food rule – lunar new years food celebration
want to request from bc as a backup since will be requesting from another source as well
wont request for this time. If cant get from cab, will come back
RJ – should be aware of the problem where the admin is also involved in the event
RJ – is there a contact with the admin
The mead does not have money set aside for student activities, only for exhibitions

2. Amherst Swing and Salsa (rep by Kayla)

Hosting a salsa night, so need 72 for police officer for 2 hours to be there and 25 for food to attract new members for lessons
Free event open to everyone

Karen – is this an intro meeting?
A club sponsored event to attract more members

3. SHEs (rep by Jonathan)

Funded for the mens and womens dinner for my body is beautiful week
Want funding for a 3rd dinner
A growing need for more gender inclusion
Had thought of combining dinners, but men and women had felt that a single gender dinner was more conductive for discussion their issues and topics, so thought a 3rd dinner for those who don’t identify either way would be included
RJ – was there a limit on the number?
Not a benefit dinner
No limit placed
A discussion based event
Mens and womens dinner are benefit dinners
Hao - Can this be made a benefit dinner? Who will be the beneficiary
Can this be made a senate project?
Richard – for the bracelets, was open to the entire committee, but this is a little different
This would be the same time as the other 2, would be open to all who would want to go
Will – why are there different amounts for mens and womens dinner?
Womens dinner has been in existence for longer, so would prob have higher attendance
Tierney – since there is an expressed interest from people who feel the need for a 3rd dinner because they feel excluded from the other 2
Karen – would the 200 food rule be ok for this?
Fine with taking this out of 200 food rule
Richard – is they are all concurrent on the same day, why would 2 be benefit dinners and 1 not be?

Want funding for a trip to NY for a poetry café on feb 27th and 28th
An even that has happened for many years
Need entrance fees for 25 students (13 each)
Manny – who has been advertised to?
Has been advertised to anyone on the list serve
Can also put up table tents etc
Also need 1 night of hotels – a hotel that can fit 5 people per room – requesting for 900

Issue of the conference fee being above by 30, so finally got word back from Lekyia saying that she would fund the additional 30 per student, so now requesting the 100 per student
