SLT AGENDA for April 8th

  • PTA Updates-Ms. Cox

-The PTA will be financially assisting with the Mother’s Tea in May. They will also add this event to the budget for next year. The BOGO Book Fair is April 25th-29th and Thursday night the 28th is Family night. Beginner’s Night for rising kindergarteners is this night too.

-Omega Learning is sponsoring our April Reading Challenge. They are also providing books for our AU and Pre-K classes with a book from the BOGO book fair.

-This Sunday the 10th is the mother Son event at Sparetime. Currently we have 50 couples attending.

-PTA providing $500 for field day

-Staff Appreciation Week starts May 2nd. Each day of the week, we will highlight teachers, nurses, administrators… Staff Luncheon is May 3rd catered by Savory Moments.

-PTA supporting Ms. Ende with purchasing recorders.

-Family Night is April 20th at Panda Express and Sweet Frog.

-The Year Book is completed. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Cox for your dedication to get this completed!

-PTA Nomination Committee has one applicant per position. Please nominate parents you feel would be interested in serving on PTA.

-Final PTA meeting is May 11th at 5:45 in the media center. Please plan to attend we need at least 20 people to vote on the PTA slate.

  • Community Partnerships-Ms.Hager

-This event was held this morning for our partners in education and potential partnerships. Business partners will sign a Declaration stating their commitment to BES.

  • PBIS- Mrs. Allen

-We are a pilot school for this new initiative! Students are rewarded for making the right choices. This is a school wide plan. Students are working on respect, integrity, and independence. Students receive points each quarter and they are rewarded for making various levels.

  • Sign off on SIP (School Improvement Plan) for 3rd quarter-Ms. Itzhaki

-SLT signed off

  • Car pool updates regarding the waterline installation on Hambright Road-Ms. Itzhaki

-Parents will need to be extra patient and leave their houses earlier.

  • Advance Ed –CMS Accreditation
  • Playground Equipment!-Ms. Itzhaki

-United Way Business Alliance has picked Blythe to be the recipient of a new playground. The playgroup will be built in one day on October 14th! If the staff or SLT members know of an organizations that would like to help the United Way Business Alliance please contact Ms. Itzhaki. Also Blythe is next on the CMS list to get 2 new additional playgrounds if there is money left at the end of the year. CMS would fund these playgrounds.

Field Day June 7th

-Thank you to Mrs. Raymond for replacing Ms. Nichols on the SLT. Ms. Nichols is out on maternity leave.

-Congratulations to Heather Glover for winning Blythe Teacher of the Year and winning the North Learning Community Teacher of the Year. She is one of 9 finalists running for CMS Teacher of the Year.

-Volunteer Luncheon will be May 20th. Staff members will be asked for a small donation to help with purchasing food for the event.

Next Meeting:

May 7th – We will discuss staffing allotments and we will take a “needs assessment” and reflect on our school data.

FYI: SLT members serve for 3 years. Please let me know parents if you are not able to serve next year so we can create a nomination form. Teachers please let me know if your term will expire at the end of this year. Thanks

The following teachers will need replacements for next year: Mrs. Leer, Mrs. Jennings, and Mrs. Nichols. We will need to hold nominations for Mr. Flores and Mrs. Alexander who also need replacements.
