MINI SALOON REAR QUARTER PANELS

1970-2000

FITTING TIPS

1970-96 MODELS

Remove the rear pocket liner, quarter panel and wheel arch cover. Fit the new wheel arch liner cover (or retain your original) ensuring that it is pushed fully into the channel nearest to the outer body. It is also useful to remove the quarter light window for better access.

Insert the quarter panel into the pocket and locate downwards. By pushing the panel fully down, this will cause the top edge of the panel to lie outside and slightly above the level of the trim retaining channel. HOT TIP HERE------the top of the panel may be slightly too thick to slip into the channel----apply either a silicone spray or even a slippery medium which will allow the panel to slide into place!

You need to hold both sides of the panel about half way up-then gently pull the centre of the panel to towards the centre of the car and then slip the top into the channel. Refit fit pocket liners.

1996-2000 models

For cars of this period with inertia seat belts fitted in the rear pockets, you will need to remove the plastic pocket liner first. You may well have to lengthen the seat belt and perhaps hold it in place with a clip to allow access to the pocket.

Follow the instructions above to fit a new panel.
