What a Stars!

Over the weekend of the 28th & 29th May 2016 Corby’s International swimming pool hosted the East Midlands Regional Swimming Championships and a team of Deepings swimmers are preparing to do battle. First, I would like to congratulate Joseph Lund, Bethany Eagle-Brown, Katie Rundle, Jemma Housego on qualifying for these Championships.

Secondly, I would like to thank our club coach Lynn Chapman and her team for doing an excellent job preparing our swimmers for these Championships. Last year Deepings Swimming Club only had two swimmers qualify for this competition Tom Adams & Ben Beedell. This year I’m pleased to report that four of our young swimmers competed at these Championships, they producing some excellent swims over the weekend.

I’m pleased to report two of our swimmers Bethany Eagle-Brown (50m Br, 100m & 200m F/C, 50m Fly) & Katie Rundle ( 100m &200m Fly) both reached finals and Katie went on to medal in the 200m Butterfly by finishing in 3rd in a time of 2.45.28, which is an outstanding achievement. Bethany almost medalled but was sadly touched into 4th place in the 200m Freestyle but nevertheless an outstanding performance from both girls. They should be very proud of their success as I know we all are at the club.

Congratulations to Joseph Lund who swam 6 events and to Jemma Housego who swam two, it is a great achievement simply to reach this standard of competition

Well Done Swimmers Fantastic Swimming!
