SHOW Details

The arena rental for Benton Fairgrounds is $450 + $50 tractor fee + $50 clean up deposit. Each club is contributing $50 towards the rental fee and MS will be responsible for the balance.

  • MRC will not be hosting the show on Aug. 17 & opted to turn the show over to Mid-State. The other clubs will need to provide workers for the entry stand, coggins check, arena, and announcer stand. Amy Richmond has volunteered to announce the entire day. The entry fees will be turned over to Mid-State for the classes not completed on Aug. 10. This totals $405 for 135 entries not run.
  • A concession wagon will be provided by Don Ply.
  • The show will begin at 9 AM with Sr. Poles. The W.P. classes for show 10 will not start before 2 PM. If the speed classes run longer than 1:30 PM, there will be a 30 min. intermission to allow riders in the pen.
  • Trailer fee will be $4 regardless if a person is staying for the second show.
  • Participation fees will be charged for both shows. If a person didn’t enter all their classes at the Aug. 10 show and enters classes from show 9 on the 17th, they will have to pay another participation fee.
  • The entries for the Aug. 17 will not be taken before noon to avoid confusion at the entry stand.
  • Anyone entering both shows will need to pay each show separately.

A motion had been made and passed at the Aug. 10 meeting to have a 3 person committee judge the remaining speed events from show 9. Judy Young, the judge from Aug. 10- show 9, volunteered to come to Benton and judge those remaining classes.

A motion was made, seconded and passed unanimously to allow Judy Young to judge the remaining speed classes from Aug. 10, show 9.

A motion was made, seconded & passed unanimously to have the Sr. pole class open to new entries at the Aug. 17 show.

A motion was made, seconded & passed unanimously that no rollover of speed times from show 9 to show 10 will be allowed.

A motion was made, seconded & passed unanimously that Mid-State pay expenses at this time, for the Aug. 17 Benton show, excluding the $200 from the clubs for the arena rental.

A decision was made to wait and see how much money is taken in at the Aug. 17 show to determine how to split the money between Mid-State and the clubs, LRC, SCRC & SRC.

Tickets will be given to those choosing to leave the show and return later for the second show. Their names will be written on the back of the ticket to allow re-entry to the fairgrounds.

NextMid-State meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 17 with location TBA.

Motion made and seconded to adjourn.
